Maybe this is just a quickdraw. Klaw's sonic converter is made from a steel alloy, but War Machine has rockets and repulsor rays that can damage it, causing Klaw to get absorbed into the sonic converter. Klaw is capable of sonic blasts with a concussive force equal to 3,000 pounds of TNT blowing up, which seems like enough to KO War Machine or at least stun him.
