I came up with a story about her powers malfunctioning, while teleporting with another person of a different ethnicity. (Sunspot)

Locus is wild. Her shock doctrine as a mutant terrorist with limited engagement powers was wearing whiteface in ski gear as a social commentary. it got old fast.

yeah but how many "new jean greys" have we gotten over the years...? my deal is that they are both powerful elementals.

We got those because Shooter wanted Jean to be dead after Dark Phoenix ate a star, and then years later 'cause Quesada wanted her dead for some reason, writers were trying to find a way to have a Jean or Jean-like character around and that's why we got all of those.

With Storm being alive, I see no reason for someone to try to be a new Storm, specially since characters getting each other's identities can be messy as is...

Tempo is awesome but I’ve been writing to the x-office for years trying to get Lightbright out of limbo.

Its not a comics appearance, but Lightbright did get a good role in the DARK AVENGERS: PATRIOT LIST prose novel last year, along with the surviving members of the Desert Sword super team.

It didn't last long, but Ewing had both Storm and Frenzy in the cast of his S.W.O.R.D. series. He's also indicated that Frenzy will turn up in his X-MEN RED run as well, but unfortunately not likely as regularly or prominently as she was in S.W.O.R.D.

Frenzy is in the best place she's ever been. Honestly one of the most organic arcs of an x-man, especially now that she's able to work within a system as an ambassador for the Sol system and objectively make her moves while power plays are being made.
