Anybody else enjoy Ben's introduction to the Midnight Sons in today's issue of Damnation?

You know I did! He came in much like I expected he would, as a last minute addition, but I didn't expect extra firepower! It was great though: reminded me of one of the original issues of Scarlet Spider from back in the day.

I really hope this team gets a monthly: the team dynamics are already great afternoon just a few pages together!

In my opinion, it's a team of almost all the best supernatural B-listers.

And as Wong said, he assembled this team from people who were either dead, damned, or had darkness inside them already. Who fits all the above? Ben Reilly, of course. He's been dead, and his soul is barely beginning to recover from the torturous deaths and resurrections inflicted on him, which led to him doing some pretty awful things, even if initially well-intentioned, so he'd be a prime target for Mephisto.

What you describe is exactly why I hope Ben gets included on the team if it gets its own ongoing. He really does fit, even if the casual observer wouldn't think so - and because he does fit thematically and in terms of plot and action, it gives the writer a unique opportunity: when would we have ever seen a Spider in a team like the Midnight Sons?!

On Ben's side, establishing himself as a team member might help solidify his place in the current MU. I'd hate to see him go away again if his series gets cancelled, but it wouldn't hurt as bad if I knew he'd still be getting regular screentime elsewhere.

Hell, have Ben eventually bring Kaine onto the team!
