So they possibly could have expected the sequence of events that lead to Atlas' death and are maybe manipulating **** for their machinations.

I think first part is very likely. As for the second, I thought that arm was given as an advance payment?

I believe it is. Just the potential that it could be part of some grand plan and they planned for him to come forward.

Big if though of course, could easily turn out not to true after all.

I would doubt that factors into this at all. King said in some of the pre-release interviews that he was using the iterations of the characters from their First Issue Special appearances.

Wow I thought I new most of DC’s obscure characters but I haven’t ever seen these guys. Created by Joe Simon?!? It would make sense for them to show up since his other DC creations like Manhunter and the Green Team are featured.

I don't hink this series fall in the normal continuity. Black Label, you know.
But anyway, I wish the whole Leviathan bussiness by Bendis to be forgotten. All that built out to just fizzle with "now we are leviathan, get out Mark Shaw".
