    Default A portal for Dwarves

In the LOTR universe, the dwarves delve deep - OOPS, there is a Balrog.

Let's say that in digging they come up with a portal to the Dwarves realm in the MCU. They establish friendly relations and trade. So what happens, if they then open up the Balrog vault or in another scenario, a dragon like Smaug come by. The MCU dwarfs are full fledged allies and will commit to a fight.

How do these dwarves if they commit to the great battle influence the events in the LOTR in the last struggle against Sauron? Might they be able to destroy the Ring without the volcano trip?

Based on the fact that the MCU dwarves make all kinds of 'technomagical' weaponry and so forth (as I understand), I really feel they make a huge difference in the fight against Sauron's armies. Or the Balrog. Or Smaug.

As for them destroying the Ring, maybe (tossing it into a star would at least put it out of reach forever, regardless of how people feel about whether or not that would destroy it)? But at the same time, nope, because unless they have people showing some pretty hefty resistances against manipulation and mental control, they just won't do it. They'd probably sit it down and start studying it, which...would be the worst possible thing to do.
