Default Are you interested in what Peter did?

Six Months Ago, Peter Parker did something. What is that something he did? That's the question. And as the book has yet to answer that question, I thought I'd ask a different one. Are you, dear reader, interested?

It's true that the Wells run has been a controversial one. With a dangling mystery meant to entice readers. Is it working? Or would you rather this run just wrap up so the book can move on to something, anything, else?

Not that interested. A little, but I’m sure the answer will be anticlimactic as these “mystery boxes” usually are.

No. No matter what it is by virtue of being a mystery box that has now been dragged out it will never live up to anyones idea. It will be some dumbass thing and since as of ASM #10 Spider-man's basically been absolved of it in my eyes since it couldn't possibly be that bad since he came out of it perfectly fine.

    Thumbs up

No, not in the least. This is the weakest major Spidey story in a decade or more, IMHO. I find it a chore to read.

Wasn’t interested when they advertised it leading up to the run and am still not interested as it’s just a waste of all of our time and these kinds of things never live up to the mystery.

The only thing I was ever interested in were the jokes people came up with, like him nuking Krakoa, aside from that, whatever.

I don’t know. It has a lot of competition thanks to Slott (not to mention the underwhelming endings to both the Kindred saga and Beyond). It’s certainly not a strong run, so far. Would I rather this or Slott? Hmmn… that’s a hard one. At least with Slott, things were a hot mess but never this boring.

See this kind of proves my point. When told Spider-man does something so bad everyone hates him this is the kind of thing your mind immediately creates. What in gods name could Wells do that even remotely touches this as an idea.

Jokes? Some were even serious about that once we learned about MJ and Annie's connections to the mutants.

Perhaps it depends on the sales? If they hold up I imagine they'd keep milking it. If they go down, the revelation should be coming sooner rather than later.

Not really. We're going to find out what he did and why he did it, and then we'll say, "yeah, Peter was right." Because he will have been right, but he either did a bad job of explaining why he did it to his friends, or they just assumed he'd an idiot and never asked.

Just so you know, this would include the site's official reviewers too with the latest issue.

The poll could probably use more than just two options, since if we put it in a number analogy it's basically either a "0 or 10".

I think most posters here don't find any reason to care because we've barely been given anything to go off of it. I wasn't looking forward to a mystery box way back when they announced this timeskip to begin with, but when the "glowy figure" showed up in Beyond's finale some people did get interested in where would it go. The first arc with Tombstone pretty much just dragged what we were told in advance into the ground ("People don't like Peter right now") and moving forward with #900 and the Vulture story it took an absolute backseat.

It doesn't have to be an overbearing force moving the book forward (Aaron dragged out the Jane Foster reveal as Thor through 8 issues and his constant "what's going on? Huh, huh?" did get grating at spots), but in this case there aren't a whole many breadcrumbs to keep us interested in the mystery and the ones that get tossed are very slim to begin with. About the biggest thing to go off we got ever since MJ's mystery kids (and that was literally the first issue of this run) was that Peter lost someone who's a woman, and we only learned that yesterday.
