Default Weird TV shows you watched as a kid?

In the late seventies, early eighties my class watched a tv show about Robinson Crusoe. The tv hostess and the kids would pop in on RC and we'd learn about making huts and your own bread. Never once did he say "omigod! Human beings! Help! You gotta get me outa here!"

    What junk did you watch?

Too many to count. But I'll start with:

All the Sid & Marty Kroft shows on Saturday morning - HR Puffinstuf, Bugaloos, Lidsville, Land of the Lost, Sigmund the Sea monster, Dr. Shr!nker, Elektra Woman & Dynagirl

The Fantastic Journey - short-lived show about space/time continuum that starred Jared Martin (Dallas) and Roddy McDowell (Planet of the Apes)

    Dark Shadows

I'll say The Pretender and the X-Files. They weirded me out and I have yet to re-watch them in my adult life to see If I feel the same way.

I loved it and still think it's a good show, but Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future was a weird kids show in retrospect.

Somebody actually thought "Hey let's take the skynet future seen in Terminator and make it a live action kids show and not sugar coat it."

Ever watch any shows where the host "fell from grace"?

The British had Jimmy Savile and Rolf Harris. In Australia we had the dad from Hey Dad (crappy sitcom) busted for some nasty stuff...

I remember watching 2 shows in the afternoons (reruns) that were kind of strange:

Thunderbirds - a space show with puppets instead of actors
Here Come The Double Deckers - 7 British kids who hang out in an old double decker bus and had 'adventures'.

Round The Twist was pretty messed up:

Also, not sure what the hell was going on with Timm Thaler, a German series about an evil baron buying a boy’s laughter.

Oh geez, a ton of local shows out of Syracuse, NY: the Magic Toy Shop with Merilee and Eddie Flumnum, Monster Movie Matinee.

When the weather was right, Commander Tom out of Buffalo.

And a few syndicated shows like New Zoo Revue.

There was also near-forgotten cartoons like Bat-Fink (Created by Bob Kane), Tom Terrific and Super-president

Dragon Booster and Space Cases (like Star Trek, for kids.)
Loved Dragon Booster, though... and I remember really liking Space Cases (wish it had a better name, though.)

Do the Power Ranger spin-offs count? My favorite of those was Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog. Literally, Power Rangers in a medieval fantasy setting.

Used to watch Hey Dad! As a kid. Tried to revisit it a few years ago post his being charged and my goodness I couldn't make it to the end (partly because it is terrible, but also his actions have tarnished it). Rachael Beck is still gorgeous though.
