I think old x-23 is still alive
Sidenote, I liked how Magik and Firestar's costumes looked in this issue.
"Danielle... I intend to do something rash and violent." - Betsy Braddock
Krakoa, Arakko, and Otherworld forever!
Yeah, but it appears to be an intentional plot point. I can't remember what issue it was, but earlier in the run there was a data page noting that Synch's power levels had increased noticeably when he came back, too. I thought it was a throwaway development for one character, but now I'm curious if this is a plot point solely for Duggan's X-Men run, or if there will be implications in the X-Line on a larger scale.
Caliban... WTF???
I was trying to do too much and not doing any of it as well as I could. But I've had a change of mind... though not everyone shall enjoy it. I will.

Darwin is one of the HARDEST characters to kill imo. Many couldnt do it even if they tried. His powers reactive automatically to keep hm from dying. Hell he could probably be stabbed a million times and his body would evolve to have a healing factor or some other way to keep him alive.
If Krakoa somehow gets wiped out, wouldn't the Children of the Vault be set free and kill everyone?
Yeah, this is probably my favorite issue of Duggan's run as well. It's finally something that explores the possibilities of the X-men and Krakoa rather than generic villain of the month scenarios.
My only issue is that the Children are just at the end of the day good concepts but rather boring in personality. You can make that work, the Borg certainly do but I think it just doesn’t work as well in Superhero comics. Otherwise the issue was great.
I’m in the minority but I thought this issue was pretty lazy in places. It’s great Forge is getting spotlight and the vault has the potential to be interesting….
But I’m pretty tired of watching everyone get brutally murdered only for it all to be a dream/simulation etc, makes it feel like the writers are doing it for nothing more than shock value at this point.
Forge’s suit using another mutants powers (mystique) to infiltrate felt un-necessary and a convenient way to use powers that aren’t within the teams skill set….except they do have someone who could do that but he’s been benched (Synch). I don’t doubt Forge is capable of creating such a suit but plot wise it risks the suit becoming whatever the writer needs it to be. I hope that’s not the case in future issues.
Finally if the books are not going to confirm or tell us why mutants suddenly have better/stronger powers sometime soon (like Xavier having TK now) then I’m just going to question if the writer got a characters power set wrong….again.
