Because ‘City of the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ seemed a bit too long.

Is this a sequel to the recent reboots or another reboot?

Seems like a continuation based on the concept art released.

It’s a sequel to the recent reboot trilogy. Confirmed in the official announcement.

Huzzah! I really enjoyed the newest trilogy. Glad we're getting more.

I hope the new Ape leading the Kingdom is completely Anti-Caesar in "ideology" "Kill All Apes" lol!

Since this takes place many years after the first trilogy, I wonder if they will finally introduce Col. Taylor and the astronauts. In the first movie we saw the headline that the Icarus Mars mission was lost.

We already have Cornelius (Although he's Caeser's son instead of his father), maybe bring in Zira and Zaius as well?

Bringing in Taylor would also add a human element instead of the mute ones.

The most consistently good American sci-fi franchise! 9 films and only the Burton film is terrible. Most are good and several are great. Let's hope the streak continues.
