^ It does have incredible makeup effects. Maybe some of the best in film history.

Looks like it takes place "in the future" from the last three films. So, a big timejump. Not going to lie. Don't really care as much for this ip right now. Maybe the trailer will change my mind.

Wonder if Freya and the others will be the astronauts. Or even have her be a gender-swapped version of Taylor.

Especially since humanity was starting to evolve into it's mute form so some 'past' humans could show up.

The new Apes movie is set many years after the conclusion of 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes. Many apes societies have grown from when the Moses-like Caesar brought his people to an oasis, while humans have been reduced to a feral-like existence. Some ape groups have never heard of Caesar, while others have contorted his teaching to build burgeoning empires. In this setting, one ape leader begins to enslave other groups to find human technology, while another ape, who watched his clan be taken, embarks on a journey to find freedom.

    Trailer was awesome.

    Synopsis is fantastic.

I am pumped! New Apes and Dune in the same year.

    Bring on the scifi!

Kind of looks a bit GOT/Duneish in a few ways. Also a bit of the HORIZON video games. Guess Freya is more of a Nova (either version) type character.

Also looks like the Apes vocals have evolved further, they still largely stuck to somewhat halting speech and sign language in the previous trilogy, even Caesar to a degree, as they were still early generations since the virus.

Though I was really hoping to see the Icarus falling out the sky at the end. Oh well.

Does Charlton Heston's Planet of the Apes movies stand the test of time? I want to watch something in the franchise but it is re-watching the Wyatt-Reeves trilogy or watch Heston's version for the first time.
