Awesome.... Can't wait!
https://deadline.com/2022/09/marvel-...re-1235131204/Deadline has confirmed that the Disney+ six-episode Armor Wars Marvel series will now be morphed into a movie.
Don Cheadle is expected to reprise his role as War Machine aka Colonel James Rhodes. Yassir Lester, who was on board for the series, will continue on with writing the movie.
The series was first announced during Disney Investor Day back in December 2020.
There is on director attached at this time or where the movie will be released in the 2023-2025 Marvel Cinematic Universe continuum.
The “Armor Wars” storyline ran through Iron Man (Vol. 1) #225 (December 1987) to #231 (June 1988), written by David Michelinie and Bob Layton with art by Mark Bright. In the series, also dubbed “The Stark Wars”, Iron Man encounters the Spymaster, who steals the Stark technology. Iron Man also comes up against Force, which sets up the plot of “Armor Wars” in the following issues.
Kind of wonder if it'll have Iron Man added to the title (Similar to the new Cap movie despite having a different Cap), although technically War Machine isn't Iron Man (Although of course Rhodes has taken up the Iron Man identity in addition to War Machine)...

Interesting I wonder if Hologram Stark will show up?
"Dedra Meero is not just a woman in a men’s world, but a fascist in a world of fascists.” - Denise Gough
Yay!
I suspect that this will be War Machine's last run, so way to go out on top
A feature sounds like we might get more and better armored folk. Who might pop up in this?
-- Titanium Man?
-- Crimson Dynamo? (he's been name-dropped already)
-- A version of Guardsman?
-- Force?
-- Sunturion?
-- a Mandroid?
-- Dreadnoughts?
-- Ironheart?
-- Vision? (he's partly StarkTech)
-- Justin Hammer?
-- Box? (why not? Time to slowly work in Alpha Flight)
The thing I want the most from this movie is for Marvel to bring back Terrence Howard and make him the villain.
I wondered if something was up when Don Cheadle said he's not doing Marvel contracts anymore, that he was basically on a case by case basis.
“I’m done with my contracted years in the MCU, so now, it’s just like, if something sounds fun and I’m presented with it, then yeah, let’s go.”
Looks like we'll see him in Secret Invasion before his final(?) run in Armor Wars, so there's that.

I guess the concept and the budget was too high for a tv series.
This is the first I've heard anything about this, but it would be awesome to have a movie with War Machine as the actual protagonist! I know that was not the premise of the comics Armor Wars, but if RDJ is not playing some version of Stark, Rhodey realizing people have been stealing and using Stark Tech, and yeah, introducing and having him plow through a list of armored characters like
Titanium Man?
-- Crimson Dynamo? (he's been name-dropped already)
-- A version of Guardsman?
-- Force?
-- Sunturion?
-- a Mandroid?
-- Dreadnoughts?
-- Ironheart?
-- Vision? (he's partly StarkTech)
-- Justin Hammer?

Could make an action/special FX blockbuster, if done well. Plus, they really have had Cheadle pretty much as a background player throughout his time in the MCU, and he's definitely talented enough to get the spotlight, at least once!
Be kind to me, or treat me mean
I'll make the most of it, I'm an extraordinary machine
Bet vision shows up.
Hey, marvel how about prototype? You used a topaz based on both the marvel and ultraforce named versions so how about using another?
Also i just want sharon to be revealed to be a skrull. Hated turning her evil.
Darkhawk and death's head would be great. How about machine man?
Yeah, if they were going to do this justice, this would probably require a lot of CG armor scenes and fights, which I'm not sure they'd have been able to do justice in streaming. I wonder if this will solve that issue.
I'm happy Rhodey is finally getting his movie.
