People are wondering why Thor was left behind? Seriously guys?

A God known for his stubborness suddenly cannot lift his hammer and you think he is just going to immeidately fly off and leave it?

Aaron wrote BP well. Fury was the villain in the story and they went to stop him, what exactly is wrong with that?

Him and Stephen had the same stance in this issue
    We need better comics

I'll give you that, I was thinking the same, but just the way it was portrayed it was comical.

Whatever the direction Marvel is taking things now, the mute Watcher watching on as something important happens is much more memorable imagery then cloaked badass #5786 showing up at the scene. We WILL have a real Watcher again sooner or later. We didn't get one now and Fury is still alive. Marvel didn't fire the bullet on Nick Fury just yet.

I'm not talking about that; that was understandable and everyone agreed on that. I'm talking about how they acted towards Cap at the end when he asked for some explanation for why Fury suddenly did all that. Considering all that Fury dragged them through, they could've at least told Cap.

Deliberately so, I'd say. I think Aaron meant for it to elicit a chuckle. I know it did with me.

True, although I think the comedy comes at the expense of the characters.

Yeah I agree that it went downhill after an initially promising start. Liked the art work though and I am somewhat interested in Fury's new status quo but that was about it.

I wonder if part of the reason they did this series at all was to give Winter Soldier more importance. Before he was just another covert spy character ala Black Widow. Now he has a purpose.

I think Thor can take it. But the spirit of this entire series can really be summed up by that scene. You've got B and C listers like Punisher, Ant-Man, Moon Knight, and Rocket Raccoon flying off at the end of the adventure while A lister Thor is literally an afterthought to them. This was all about making the fringe players of the Marvel U the stars of an event and I love that.

Interesting point and I totally see it in that scene. It's too bad they all took a C lister back seat for 90% of the series because Nick Fury was 100% focused on, because that concept is rather cool in my mind.

What happened to Fury reminds me of what was done to Aquaman in 2006.
I would read again the Nick Fury of Steranko, a story about a secret agent who must fight not only the external enemies but also he has to keep his values and don't let his team became the thing he fights against.

Wow. This sounds like wasted potential: the comic

This whole event...what were they thinking?
