Hey Nik, I've got another expat I'd like to do up a character sheet for. That be alright?

Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

Why are we here?
"Superboy Prime (the yelling guy if he needs clarification)..." - Postmania
"...dropping an orca whale made of fire on your enemies is a pretty strong opening move." - Nik
"Why throw punches when you can be making everyone around you sterile mutant corpses?" - Pendaran, regarding Dr. Fate
Initial Stats now included (minus Techniques and Social Matrix). I'm sure it needs A LOT of work to be viable.

I see...bucketloads of Energy (and stacks!).
Oooo, I love the sound of that. ^_^Corruption Protocols

I think that is absolutely true in most instances, looking at characters in isolation, but in a balanced party there is always room for a solid generalist.
If you have characters 1, 2, 3 and 4, where 1 is a Stealthy Skill-Monkey and 2 is a Tank, 3 is DPS and 4 is a Generalist, you can always use the 4 as a support to any of the others, situationally. They're your 2nd Skill-Monkey, 2nd DPS and 2nd Tank.
Just don't leave them on their own.
Unless there happens to be a 1-person task that requires a bit of everything.
But generally, I think there's definitely a place for them in a team-up.

Oh, no question. I will not argue with that assessment at all. If one has a bunch of specialists, having a generalist along isn't a bad thing. Lord knows I've played some 'entering into generalist' area characters myself. ^_^
As you say, in isolation.
And no, leaving them by themselves - even in the middle of a fight, where people are pairing off - not a good plan.

Then again, I'm less a 'everyone find an opponent and pair off against that person' kind of fighter and more of a 'how can my team leverage their abilities as a group to utterly destroy one or two of the enemies at the outset, leaving the fight lopsided (if at all possible)' kind of person. So I don't feel any generalist would be in trouble.
^_^
I used to appall people in my martial arts schools with my thoughts on 'dealing with a real problem'. My answer was usually 'if I absolutely can't get away, is it possible to run the problem over with my car?'
