Default Awesome Ladies of Mythology: Amphitrite

    Greetings, friends!

I come bearing yet another Awesome Ladies of Mythology article, from the amazing Anne Ruthven!

Today's Lady? Amphitrite: wife of Poseidon, Queen of the Sea......and so much more than that, apparently. This is a truly fascinating article that really helps you to understand how Greek religious thought changed as the patriarchy grew in power and influence.

Seriously, Diana NEEDS to meet Amphitrite sometime! She could do for her what she's done for Hera.

Please note, that if you're viewing this thread after 9/3, the blog will be further down from the top. Just scroll down. You'll find it. If you're viewing this a week after 9/3, you'll probably have to search the archives for the article. But it'll be there.

    Please, enjoy!

Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
