    Default X-Force #32 review

    My back hurts.

We start with the pages from the preview with Kraven and Deadpool's head walking through the forest of Krakoa while Kraven is hyping himself up in his monologue. Eventually, he comes across one of the hatcheries with viable body eggs. While he un-sheathes one of his knives to destroy the eggs, Wade's head bits off his own tongue.

After the title page, we cut to Sage and Omega Red who have come across the crime scene. Sage assumes it was an Eternal attacks but Red tells her that the attack was too savage for demi-gods like the Eternals. Sage scans the scene for evidence and finds Wade's tongue. She's about to ask Red what actually happened when the two of them went to beat up those Putin fanboys but she sees him feeding on the corpses of destroyed bodies to replenish himself (or however Omega Red works under Percy idgaf).

We then get three pages of Kraven killing random mutants across Krakoa including Maggot and that Guthrie kid with red wings cuz somehow all the mutants left are too scrubby to beat up Kraven. While this is happening, Deadpool's head is freed from Kraven's spear due to a stray lightning blast from Storm. The head rolls around and comes to a stop before Black Tom who's currently fused with Krakoa's soil.

Deadpool tells Tom about Kraven who tries to contact Beast however unbeknownst to the duo, Beast is already Kraven's hostage (?!?!). Kraven then forces Beast to teach how to operate the Shadow Room (?!?!?!)

Black Tom's like "Damn, I'm gonna need help" and decides to give Wade a earthen body for his head and weapons. Omega Red shows up and he and Deadpool start fighting.

Meanwhile, Wolverine is back from #25 of his book and gets a message from Beast to meet him at the Pointe (X-Force meeting place). Shockingly (/s) it's a trap by Kraven and he's trapped with him and Beast in a hunting simulation in the Shadow Room.

    To be continued.

    My back still hurts.

This series proves how much lack of security Kakadu has. Basically everyone who has mutant DNA in or ion them can walk through the gates. No real live monitoring, no silent alarm when human DNA enters the gate, even when they are actually escorted by a mutant. No alarm when „problematic“ mutants like Deadpool walk through the gates.

There is no real infiltration, tactical, or security team. Millions of mutants there, a lot of them on X or villain teams. Trackers, hunters, ferals.

And then you have a team where half of the members aren’t even there most of the time. A fighter/tactical/computer woman who was always two steps ahead and she was shunt into the background and is acting like a newbie.

There was a data page where Sage says she would've noticed but she was busy drinking at Blob's bar but she redacted it and blamed the Eternals' attack

I'm not seeing the downside to letting Kraven just kill Beast. Like this is the one time I'm fully in support of Logan taking time out to go have a beer instead of advancing the plot. Finally its the Green Lagoon's time to shine! Let it earn its keep, Logan! Go get a drink with one of those fun little umbrellas! I believe in you!

(Also, Percy's like: what are winged mutants for if not for killing hmm? LOL.)

Poor Jay. Nice guys finish last. He ever can win! But loved to see him on panel flying and being happy. Him and Dust had some great panels together. Maybe they'd be more than friends in this Krakoan age?

And I am so glad to see a Kraven-type bad guy again. With all our mutant baddies with the In Crowd lately (even Omega is helping Sage, who is awesome as always), it's a fun distraction.
I'm not totally useless. I can always be used as a bad example...

Icarus! You're talented and amazing and I love you. You're the reason we're all here today, reading this issue. You brought in the audience because you're an icon and absolutely everyone recognizes your brilliance. Every single movement, every single line of dialogue, is poetry in motion and visually the personification of everything that is good in the world. Literally the best winged character to ever exist in Marvel comics. Nay, in all of fiction?

To be fair everyone was preoccupied by the attacks from the Eternals, which is how Kraven was able to sneak around using that distraction to pick off random mutants... mostly of the weaker variety since the stronger mutants were all busy elsewhere thanks to Judgment Day events. So this is one case where I'm willing to give both the writer and the X-Force squad a pass.

And, I'll be honest here, I've been highly critical of this book and this arc and prejudged the heck out of it. Truth be told, though, reading it right after Wolverine #25 (which I greatly enjoyed) it wasn't so bad. Sure there were a couple of WTF moments like Omega Red eating some cloned bodies that had been rendered inert (killed I suppose, even though they lacked consciousness) by Kraven. I was aware he was a serial killer but don't recall him ever being a damn cannibal! And Black Tom giving Wade a body made up of Krakoan plant and earth matter was a bit goofy too. Other than those two bits of weirdness, however, I kind of liked the issue. Him using Beast to bait his trap for the "apex predator" amongst the mutants (that being Logan) was kind of fun and now I understand the damn dinosaurs on the cover for the next issue at least.

Was it a great thought-provoking issue? No. That was Immortal X-men this week, and X-men Red last week. And that's not what this book does, at least under Ben Percy. But it was enjoyable and had great art, so I'm now looking forward to the conclusion. Hopefully it sticks the landing with a great matchup between Logan and Kraven.

I'll give it a 7/10 myself. Didn't regret paying for it and actually rather enjoyed it. *shrugs*

This sounds like if there was a series of Twenty Four where the villain is just The Undertaker and CTU are unable to stop his rampage because he supplexes anyone who gets too close.

That would actually be more entertaining honestly, and I'd definitely watch it. Ha.

I'd watch that too. Everytime i think of 24 i think of the president wife, she is in orville as the doctor and the woman from firefly and she played gloria in buffy and the president wife was all like "wait, let's talk about this." but she knew if she listened she would proably give in since the president wife was that good and she pulled the trigger. lol.

though if i'm honest my main reason for coming in this thread repeatedly is because i keep thinking and wanting say trinkling probably needs a back brace from trying to hold up this weak series with generous reviews. lmao

I guess Wolverine is wasting time in not-a-threat Kraven's garbage trap before he's with the team inside the Progenitor?
