Default Forgotten children on tv shows

This is mainly directed at soap operas but I'm sure there are examples in prime time tv as well.

Children go away to boarding school or just fall off the planet without ever being mentioned - even by their parents.

I can't remember the last time The Young And The Restless' Victoria Newman mentioned her son Reed. I don't even know where he went. Same with Lily Winters' twin children who left town ages ago and are never mentioned.

    What are some other examples?

Chuck Cuningham comes to mind from Happy Days, and didn't Ross' son on Friends just stop being mentioned?

There were some that were forgotten even when they were still on the show, like that kid from Family Ties, or Worf's kid in Deep Space Nine.

One of the kids - I think it was Brendan Lambert - from Step By Step disappeared when the show moved from ABC to CBS in the later seasons.

I think so. I hated how Ross just planned to run off with Rachel and Emma (was it Paris?) in the final episode.

AMC (All My Children) Bobby Martin went to the attic to get skis and never returned. They even decades later joked about by having a family member find a fake skeleton in the attic in ski clothes.

Currently the Connors is treating Andy and Jerry like they never existed.

Jessie Pinkman has a brother who only appears in one episode of BREAKING BAD. (Granted, Jessie's family only appears a few times during the series and in EL CAMINO).

Gus Fring mentions he has children but they're never seen and it's possible they weren't real in the first place given Gus's frequent covers/fronts.

Both the Lucy Show (1962) and the Doris Day Show did massive series reboots midway thru the shows where the characters went from being single mothers to single women with no kids.

Donna from That 70's Show was shown to have a younger sister who appeared early on in one episode, and and older sister in college, but neither are referred to again and Donna is even said to be an only child in a much later episode.

Similar thing happened to Eric's sister from the same show, actress left, was recast but then they stopped using/referring to the character altogether.

It was played for laughs but Seven on Married with Children.

Also being a school environment explains it, but about half the girls from season 1 of Facts of Life and some of the kids from Good Morning Miss Bliss (AKA Saved by the Bell Season 1).

Wasn't there an episode where they had Seven's picture on a milk carton? That was hilarious.
