Venus and Mona Lisa? Was there nobody involved who could think of a female artist? (y'know, since the guys were names after artists ... seems like that would've been the theme)
Joe Swanson from family guy had a son and was developing him as a love interest for Meg. Then the show forgot about him. When he finally came back it was explained he did a tour in Iraq to explain his long absence
Artemisia--not the work of art but the Baroque artist, Artemisia Gentileschi--would have been the correct choice.
Mike on MY THREE SONS is a lot like Adam Cartwright on BONANZA, in that they were well-established characters that were written out of the series when the actor wanted to leave. But I don't think Mike was ever forgotten after his five year run or Adam was forgotten after his six year run. Viewers knew they had existed and couldn't forget them. That's different from characters like Bobby Martin that the writers hoped we would forget, because they hadn't been on the show that much.
One further none of Gary's kids outside of Lucy have ever been mentioned on Dallas he and Val had twins Bobby and Betsy and he had a daughter Molly. But all the kids were born post Dallas "Dream Season" and little Bobby was named for his "Dead" Uncle so hence why they were probably never mentioned.
On Mom the kids just kind were gone after a few seasons. The daughter is made sense since she hated her mom Christy and wanted to stay as far away as she could. The son though just went to live with his dad and stepmom and was not seen again or even really mentioned. He never came to stay at his moms on weekends even he just left and never came back.
I remember there was an episode where they were at a grill out at Joes house and Peter just asks
"Hey didnt you have a son."
"He died in Iraq."
Then a few seasons later in the Thanksgiving episode he came back. Turns out he faked his death. No he is just a mess whenever they show him.
This Post Contains No Artificial Intelligence. It Contains No Human Intelligence Either.
The son on Frasier. He made a few appearances, but for the most part, he was ignored.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:
Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.
I would have to disagree with this. Frederick appeared in almost every season of the series, mostly played by Trevor Einhorn. Most of the episodes he appeared in were centered on Frederick and whatever he was going through at the time (spelling bee, his first kiss, his bar mitzvah, even the cliched 90s-themed goth phase).

Mama's Family.
Seasons 1 and 2 aired on NBC and had the character of Vint have two teen kids Buzz and Sonya. But the show was cancelled but returned 2 years later being made for a direct syndication run like TNG and other shows in the 80's this was new back then.
They retooled the show and with the season 3 opener they killed off Thelma's sister because she was played by Rue McClanahan who was now doing Golden Girls in that episode they mentioned Buzz and Sonya having left town. But later episodes ignored their existence to the point when Vint went on to have a kid with his wife Naomi they treated it as if he was a 1st time father.
In Boy Meets World Cory's little sister Morgan disappeared half way into season 2 and didn't come back into mid season 3 and the character had been recast
Greatest American Hero.
The main character Ralph had a son Kevin in the 1st season it was even a subplot with him fighting for custody. But by season 2 the kid was never mentioned again. He got dumped with the original name the character was Ralph Hinkley but it was changed to Hanley once Reagan got shot.
