I heard that the recent Superman storyline is one of his best
Blackest night
All-Star Superman and New Frontier are instant timeless classics. There are other books that have been a blast, but I think those also have that accessible factor that let's you hand them to someone and create a fan out of them, even with no prior comic reading experience.
Blackest Night is great popcorn but it's also steeped in continuity and relatively impenetrable to the uninitiated.
