All-Star Superman and New Frontier are instant timeless classics. There are other books that have been a blast, but I think those also have that accessible factor that let's you hand them to someone and create a fan out of them, even with no prior comic reading experience.
Blackest Night is great popcorn but it's also steeped in continuity and relatively impenetrable to the uninitiated.May we never forget:
