Default Was Lori Lemaris still a past love interest of Clark’s in current continuity?

I haven’t seen any indication that she was.

I don't see why she couldn't be, but I don't think Lori has been mentioned in the comics for awhile. Miller & Romita were the last ones to use her.

Far as I know, Clark's only love interests has been Lois, Lane, and Diana for post-crisis (I consider New52 post-crisis, even then they still toyed the line prior to the New52).

John Byrne and Karl Kesel retrobooted the Lori Lemaris story in "Love Lost," SUPERMAN 12 (December 1987). So Lori was in continuity post-Crisis. The question is is post-Crisis still in continuity? That was a long time ago and Superman has gone through many retcons since then. A lot that was in continuity in the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s has been kicked out the back door and left to rust in the rain.

Speaking of the "everything happened" mantra, I wonder if they meant it to include black label projects as well (i.e. Miller). Don't see why not. I guess all it takes is one writer to mention her again and it'd be back in consciousness.

Yeah I already knew about that, my question is basically for post-Rebirth.

Black Label is easier to write off.

Yeah, Black Label is more like the All-Star imprint - more of a playground for writers to mess around in. Though it's been more successful.

All that said, I don't see why Lori couldn't be in Clark's backstory. Despite not being mentioned in the New 52, a lot of what Clark's backstory there was predicated on bringing back pre-Crisis elements. For example, Superman gets his first Fortress in space from Brainiac in Action Comics vol 2 # 8, published June 2012, but when did he lose that Fortress?
How about when it was destroyed by Urko the Terrible, in a flashback in Action Comics vol 1 # 261, published February 1960? That was only other time, to the best of my knowledge, that Superman is shown to have, OR to lose, a Fortress in outer space! By the same measure, I assume Clark Kent still did date Lori Lemaris in college, and we just didn't see it happen... because his whole college career was, as per usual, brushed over.

Then obviously, Rebirth Superman is theoretically the same version as pre-Flashpoint Superman, who is mostly the post-Crisis version, with some tweaks here & there. Since Lori's inclusion was never explicitly altered, I assume she's still "the girl from Superman's past".

Finally, since Reborn nominally combined the New 52 history and the pre-Flashpoint history, and since she can be reasonably interpolated into both of them, I propose that there's no reason why we can't interpolate her into Superman's contemporary history as well.

Probably because DC actually released some books this time. Lol.

Dan Watters' Azrael was incredible, a constant delight and perhaps too good for this world (but not the Forth). For the love of St. Dumas, DC, give us more!!!

Yeah, you would think Clark’s college years would be prime unknown territory for writers wanting to reveal something from Clark’s past, rather than keep pulling from Smallville all the time.

Hm, but I thought the contemporary versions of super-heroes were all too big-headed to bother with post-secondary education. Even in high school, they would be like the jean jacket wearing toughs from my neighourhood, who would be skiving and down at the pool hall when they were supposed to be in school. They're all too hard bodied and brooding to waste their time inside four walls in-doors, believing education is for simps.

Even the really smart ones like Michael Holt, Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor wouldn't be caught dead inside a university lecture hall, because they knew it all already and would be working out at a gym with all the other jacked brainiacs.

Clark would be off the farm as soon as he could get, so he could be roaming around with his shirt off in inclement weather and the other toughs would look at him with great admiration. If he ever met Lori Lemaris it would be while working on an oil rig in the North Sea, but the oil rig would inevitably catch fire and he'd have to save all his other mates from dying in the ice cold waters--but he'd be too late to save the old cap'n who was the bravest salt he ever met, while Lori looked on before diving back into the sea and giving the land-dweller the cold shoulder.

I like Lori. I wish her to be in current canon. It was a way to make Clark discover there was a lots of mystery things in the world beyond Smallville.
