Default CBR's Top 100 Comic Book Runs of All Time - How Many of Them Have You Read?

These days, once again I have been going through the CBR's Top 100 Comic Book Runs conducted by Brian Cronin every four years. And I think these are not mentioned enough in the community. Even though it is almost exlusively American comics that are voted for, I think these lists are one of the best reading recommendations you can find in the internet. So I am wondering how many of the listed runs have you read and which comic book runs should have absolutely made the list in your opinion?

Here is the link to the master list of the latest 2020 edition:
    https://www.cbr.com/2020-top-comic-b...e-master-list/

Eisner's The Spirit is on that list. Is it really a good read? Those Golden Age comics are a chore to read.

It looks like I have only read 29 and I don't feel like I'm missing anything because I'm sure I started reading some of this but they weren't my cup of tea.

    It's a wonderful read.

Aside from some unfortunate stereotypes, the classic years of THE SPIRIT are written in a far more modern manner than what you think of as a Golden Age style.

Try one of the best of the run here:

If by "read" we mean "read at least a TPB's worth or more," then I've read at least that much of 88 runs on the list. [Er, make that 93; I recounted more carefully.]

If we mean "the entire run," then it's only 53.

The list, with a couple of notes:

    READ ALL OF
    1. John Byrne & Chris Claremont's X-Men
    2. Frank Miller & Klaus Janson's Daredevil
    3. Steve Ditko & Stan Lee's Amazing Spider-Man
    4. Jack Kirby & Stan Lee's Fantastic Four
    5. Walter Simonson's Thor
    6. John Byrne's Fantastic Four
    7. Peter David's Incredible Hulk - I haven't read every side-project Peter wrote, but I've read all of his two regular runs.
    8. Ed Brubaker's Captain America
    9. Roger Stern's Avengers
    10. Garth Ennis' Punisher
    11. Joss Whedon and John Cassaday's Astonishing X-Men
    12. Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum's X-Men
    13. Kurt Busiek and George Perez's Avengers - proofreading counts as reading, right?
    14. Matt Fraction and David Aja's Hawkeye
    15. John Romita and Stan Lee's Amazing Spider-Man - including the comic strip.
    16. Jim Starlin's Warlock - but not all of Warlock and the Infinity Watch.
    17. Roger Stern and John Romita Jr.'s Amazing Spider-Man
    18. Jack Kirby and Stan Lee's Thor
    19. Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz's New Mutants
    20. Roy Thomas' Avengers - and Avengers West Coast.
    21. Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch's Ultimates
    22. Steve Ditko and Stan Lee's Doctor Strange
    23. Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo’s Fantastic Four
    24. Roy Thomas' initial run on Conan - and his second.
    25. David Michelinie and Bob Layton's Iron Man

    26. Neil Gaiman's Sandman
    27. Alan Moore's Swamp Thing
    28. Grant Morrison & Howard Porter's JLA
    29. Kurt Busiek, Brent Anderson & Alex Ross' Astro City - see earlier joke.
    30. Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis' Justice League International
    31. Brian K. Vaughan, Pia Guerra and Jose Marzan Jr.'s Y the Last Man

    35. Paul Levitz and Keith Giffen's Legion of Super-Heroes
    36. Grant Morrison's Animal Man
    37. Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's Preacher
    38. Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples' Saga - I read this in TPB form, and I have the latest TPB on my nightstand now. But I'm counting it.
    39. Jeff Smith's Bone
    40. Jason Aaron and R.M. Guera's Scalped
    41. John Byrne's Superman
    42. Bill Willingham, Mark Buckingham and Steve Leialoha's Fables - probably a few issues behind on "The Black Forest," but counting it.
    43. Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams' Batman
    44. Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips' Criminal
    45. Greg Rucka and Ed Brubaker's Gotham Central

READ A CHUNK OF [In some cases, I want to get back to and finish reading them, in some I think I've read enough.]
    1. Chris Claremont's post-Byrne/Cockrum Uncanny X-Men - I don't think I've read all of it, but I caught up with a lot of it.
    2. Jason Aaron's Thor

    12. Ryan North and Erica Henderson's Unbeatable Squirrel Girl
    13. Jonathan Hickman's X-Men
    14. G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona's Ms. Marvel
    15. Peter Milligan and Mike Allred's X-Force/X-Statix

    21. John Ostrander's Suicide Squad
    22. Warren Ellis, Darick Robertson and Rodney Ramos' Transmetropolitan
    23. Mike Mignola's Hellboy - I read everything Mike drew and/or wrote solo through the big finale with Duncan Fegredo and then I've tried to read whatever he wrote solo since, but I'm sure I've missed a few. I've read a lot of the co-written Mignolaverse stuff too, I'm just not counting that.
    24. Geoff Johns' JSA - I've read almost all of it.
    25. Grant Morrison's Invisibles
    26. Geoff Johns and Scott Kolins' Flash

    3. Brian Michael Bendis' Avengers
    4. Larry Hama's initial run on G.I. Joe
    5. Alan Moore and J.H. Williams III's Promethea - I made a choice when I started writing ASTRO CITY not to read books that people described as "like ASTRO CITY," because I didn't want to be influenced. But I should get to this at some point!
    6. Tom King's Batman
    7. Garth Ennis, Darick Roberston and Russ Braun's The Boys
