X-Men Year Three: Team for Fall of X

Okay, bear with me for a bit:

A while ago, in July, Gerry Duggan went on Kieron Gillen's "Decompressed" podcast to talk X-Men issue 12. Here's the link:

One morsel that stuck with me was how he wanted the book to be "Three acts, with the Galas acting as act breaks." Given that, folks, we've just plunged into Act 2.

And Act 3 will coincide with Fall of X.

So, denizens of (digital) Krakoa, the skies are darkening, Fall is coming. Who do you elect to be X-Men, to stand against the Tide?

I love that team. Wanda has been forgiven, and while she may not be a mutant, she's a good ally. Nammy and Thunderbird would also be fun, and I love Emma.

Yes to Hellion, and his spin-off. You'd think Sabretooth would mess up the X-Babies? Hellion would turn them into spoiled little monsters.

What about Jean?

Scott- cant function without the x-men, literally.

Synch-deserves it tbh.

Monet- and A lister begging to happen also the brains of the team.

Dazzler-Another A-lister waiting to happen. I Iove dazzler I want more of her everywhere.

Northstar-Easily be a good counter point to cyclops' leadership with his more parental style of leadership to Scott's more employer style of leadership.

Anloe-much needed spotlight in the A team.

Tempo- An invaluable asset to have on any team.


Emma cant join cause she will be president of krakoa next year. Wanda is now a life coach so she will just join occasionally. Storm has kinda outgrown the team at this point, like saying professor x is joining the team it makes no sense and feels limiting. Magik is a war captain she doenst need to be here too.

I think it would be super interesting to kick off Scott for another "leader" type character because the public isn't satisfied with some of his decisions. Dani would be a great pick for that.

That's the thing--I don't think Sabretooth discriminates. Unlike ol'Charles, he'll take all comers.

Seconded on Scarlet Witch. Wanda's solo's supporting cast should only be three wine moms from her Zumba class

As Fall of X coincides with the X-Men's 60th Anniversary, I think it would be right to showcase a more classic line-up. I'd also like to see it be a team of true heroes that stands fully apart from the corruption within Krakoa's government and stays a stalwart, uncompromising unit that can inspire mutantkind as Krakoa falls.

The only reason I haven't included Storm on this is that I'd like to see her leading her own independent team, one that she has built herself. I also toyed with including one or two of the Academy X kids - Wind Dancer, Hellion, Surge and/or Dust - but I don't think they fit the remit as well as a roster of established mutants.
