For Me I have quite a few

FATAL ATTRACTIONS ESPECIALLY X-men 25, Mags quoting someone philiospher as he is destroying Logan
X-men 132 this quote hit me, we were just getting over 911 as well "Do you understand? Our voices will be broadcast around the world… into space. At the speed of light. At the speed of radio. Our voices traveling without end though the depth of time and space. Beyond this life. And far, far… beyond this death."
Uncanny X-men 309 I didn't know much about Chuck but this brought a new perspective
The story leading up to Onslaught Uncanny and X-men

I got more but i have to go to lunch lol

I was trying to do too much and not doing any of it as well as I could. But I've had a change of mind... though not everyone shall enjoy it. I will.

Oooh… good one. Another awesome, hard hitting Wolverine story is Bloody Choices. Very grounded and street level, it’s a gritty dark tale about Logan going after a drug lord who’s a child molester and Nick Fury and SHIELD are protecting him because he’s a key informant and witness in a bigger case. Good stuff.

Yes, Windsor-Smith's Weapon X was really very good. I was rereading it the other day, and the way it uses dialogue is just excellent. And that art, of course.

Just in case no one says it!

Generation Next was solid art and a heartbreaking story.

Not mentioned by anyone: "From The Ashes," the storyline where Madeleine Pryor is introduced and she and Scott got married. Wonderful ending for Scott at the time. It was built up well before the revelation that Mastermind was behind recent events, and a great hopeful conclusion. I liked it.

Lobdell's best work in the X-verse, for sure. Perhaps the best of Bachelo too, but his early 616 Gen X was great too.

When I came up with the thread I was thinking about issues that not only told us great story but also brought a groundbreaking aesthetic approach in terms of art and storytelling. I agree wolverine art had so many dramatic moments that I also consider revolutionary masterpieces.

    I’m adding another one:

The second story in Classic X-men 6, with a textless story with gorgeous art showing us jean getting ready for a date night with scott

I also tend to think that X-Universe was a vastly under appreciated series. We got to see what the non-mutant heroes Like Stark, Thor, even Doom and Gwen Stacy were doing during the AOA and it was pretty rough.

When I think of masterpiece stories, the x-men have had some really iconic death stories.

Who can forget the death of Illyana from the Legacy Virus? Uncanny X-Men #303. Colossus turning villain. Then Colossus taking his own life to cure the Legacy Virus in Uncanny xmen #390.

Also, the death of Kwannon in X-Men #31 Revelations story. Her lover Matsuo pushing a dagger through her heart.

Joseph dying in the Magneto War.
Favorite Characters: Wolfsbane, Storm, Psylcoke, Beast, Feral, Tempo, Nightcrawler, Quicksilver

Favorite Titles: X-Men Red, Legion of X, Marauders, Hellions

Quitely in Morrison's run was actually ground-breaking. I remember an interview where they talk about how editorial wanted them to give a cinematic feel and they took that ball and ran with it. It was really impressive.

If we're talking artistically, I would add
    - the Demon Bear story, indeed. Creepy and weird art by Sienkiewicz, which was a BIG risk putting this kind of artist on a TEENAGE book.
    - Bachalo and Lobdell were at the top of their art in Generation Next, too. I read the whole thing only recently and it's chilling.

There are definitely many but the first that always comes to mind for me is the Dark Phoenix Saga. From Wolverine's sewer moment to the quiet evening on the moon just before the big battle, I remember feeling so many emotions when I first read it. There was no hesitation from the team to fight for Jean to the death if necessary, and my heart still breaks every time each of the X-Men falls in that epic finale.
