My sister responds with the following translation and notes:
"Stupid... if it's a counterattack... it is an arrow of light with no interval... that kind of [gap/weak point] -"
She adds the following notes, because I asked about the speed of light specifically: "Doesn't use what the dictionary tells me is the Japanese term for "speed of light," It literally says "arrow of light" / "light's arrow," The last word could be translated as gap or weak point, hence the option noted in the translation."
So that lines up with the up to date translation I think.
Huge thanks to your sister! Yes, that lines up more with the current translation. I will remove any comments about lightspeed from the list, though it still leaves Frieren at some level of super speed reactions.

A good series. A lot of slice of life/slow paced moments, dramatic/sad moments, and quite a few action sequences that are done really well.
Just another side note on Stark; guy killed a dragon on accident. Wasn't trying to, and had been terrified of it (and dragon was harassing a nearby village), and *pop*, dead dragon.
And Frieren isn't even the oldest Elf. There's at least one mage that makes Frieren's 1000 years look infantile, and an Elven warrior whose probably somewhere in between, at the least.
And while demons in most manga nowadays tend to be humans with slightly pointed ears and magic power, in this one, while looking humanoid, have nothing else in common with humans (elves, dwarves, and other such races included with humans). Like slaughtering entire villages, wondering what their victims' last thoughts were. One most recent one had the terrifying ability to turn anyone and anything into gold.
Its a very good series for those that haven't read it yet.
New feat to support how inhuman high-powered fighters are in this series. Stark gets absolutely wrecked by the Great Demon Solitär. Four of her swords (that punch through stone and shatter Fern's shields) stab him in the back (he keeps fighting like it's nothing). He gets cut up more. Solitär hits him with the same spell that later on absolutely shatters Frieren's shields and blast her through hundreds of feet of large-bole trees. He gets up again. Then he gets turned to gold and put out of the fight.
After the fight, in a very short time he's exercising again like he's uninjured. Seeing this, Frieren notes it's no big deal for a powerful fighter.
Squats.jpg
That boulder looks to be about the same diameter as Heiter. Let's say the priest is 5'10". That makes the boulder *maths* approaching 8 tonnes (2.95 cubic meters or so, 2.68 tonnes per cubic meter).
Eisen is doing squats with that boulder. For exercising. After being injured.

Latest feats for this manga:
Stark, the fighter of the group, gets 'his head munched' (read, chewed on and swallowed) by a dragon. Dragons are massive, gigantic beasts easily capable of swallowing an average human whole (just to give an idea of what we're dealing with).
He's completely fine afterward.
This apparently happens more than once.
Fern wonders why he isn't dead. Stark just shrugs.
Stark Eaten.jpg
Again, as inhumanly strong, fast and tough as Stark is, he struggles against lesser mages and gets completely crushed - effortlessly - by mages who are competitive with Frieren.
Side note: They just had the usual 'Frieren characters popularity contest by reader vote' again. The Frieren-eating mimic chest (running joke) came in third. ^_^

I wonder if he's got some kind innate magic of his own, this manga's equivalent to chi or adept magic or whatever you'd call it.
Haha! So where does that place the mimic at, feats-wise? : PSide note: They just had the usual 'Frieren characters popularity contest by reader vote' again. The Frieren-eating mimic chest (running joke) came in third. ^_^
Maybe. I'm not sure the writer has bothered to figure that out, and is just going with 'sufficient training in people who are talented produces ridiculous results'. Stark has no mana that can be seen by the other characters. He just...does this stuff. All the time - it's not just 'consistent', it's also accepted by everyone as 'oh, this is just how he turned out thanks to that training'. And Frieren comments about how his master (Eisen, which is German for "iron') was even more of a monster.
How much of that was Eisen being a dwarf, I don't know, but the other dwarves we see don't show the same kind of utterly insane physical ability that Eisen does, so...
Anyway, it's certainly both consistent and part of his presentation.
Darned thing is like kryptonite for Frieren. If we did scaling here, it would be the most powerful thing in the series outside of Serie.Haha! So where does that place the mimic at, feats-wise? : P

So, here's 'current' Frieren travelled back in time facing off with a demon who can control space, object placement within space, etc. The demon takes an enormous slice out of an escarpment and sends it above Frieren and her group, intending to have it simply fall on them and squash them.
Cliff 1.jpg
Frieren doesn't find this particularly amusing, and also doesn't find this particularly difficult to fix.

I'm pretty comfortable placing her in the range of Class 90 with regards to 'blowing stuff up'.

New feat for fighter-types in the latest Frieren.
Eisen, the dwarf from Frieren's past, gets stabbed with a bunch of spears. The spears have metal tips. The tips break on him. On HIM, not on his armor (one does break on his helmet, but the rest...no). He even catches one tip in his bare hands and crushes it.
Yeesh.

Further Eisen insanity.
Frieren's past group is running from monsters. A dragon shows up, because of course it does. It chomps on Eisen, but presumably finds him about as easy to eat as a boulder. Or perhaps a steel statue. And we get this.
Eisen.jpg
Everyone DOES panic, but in the next panel remembers that it's Eisen.
Eisen2.jpg
Later, they find Eisen.
Eisen3.jpg
He was chomped by a gigantic dragon, then had a fall that made a crater in the ground. He's completely unhurt, and has just been sitting around pondering the idea of how to deal with all of those monsters.
So....that's a high-end warrior based on tanking stuff and cutting his enemies apart. He trained Stark. Stark shows similar - if not as ridiculous - durability and toughness.
