    Default New Mutants #31 review

We begin in Creative Writing class, where Anole doesn't see the point of leaving a story when he's never going to die. Karma and Dani warn him not to take resurrection for granted. Pyro is there looking over Fauna's story. The Lost Club are there, as well as Cam Long (soon to join Bishop's War College) and Karma's girlfriend.

Emma shows up and wants them to step up the training for Escapade. Dani is concerned about her embracing Krakoan life while Karma whines that the Lost Club are filling her up with their grudges. Dani admits that they did let the kids down. Emma dismisses Fauna's story, which is about a motorcycle-riding burrito.

Escapade has become close to Martha and Cosmar. Martha is still delighted to have a body again "farts are magic" Escapade confides that she fears that her friend Morgan is destined to die in her place. Rhane shows up and takes the kids on a field trip to New York Morgan shows up (some Peanuts-styled panels recap his and Escapade's childhood friendship) Unfortunately the U-Men arrive firing power dampers and taking the kids hostage. Worse, Sublime appears to be back in the driver's seat. Martha is totally panicked.

    To be continued.
    My flag is bacon.

Very nice to actually have mutants who don't super love Krakoa as part of the actual cast and not just random extras

I got so happy that Martha is developing a personality, I can’t wait to see more about her and maybe a backstory that focuses on her and her transition into having a physical form. Maybe it can show pivotal moments in 2000s X-history from her perspective in the jar and the times she was helpless vs moments she may have intervened psychically without anyone knowing.

For **** sake, his best friend died and didn't come back.

If writers are going to pretend that Santo is not dead or that his friends don't give a crap about it, they should bring him back ASAP instead of trying to make something out of Wrongslide.
Bringing back the old, killing the young: that's the Marvel way

My headcanon is that the X-Men were sick of Anole's attitude during Disassembled, so they ungraduated him and treat him like a child.

Y'know I just realized fixing otherworld means that whole Wrongslide wanting to "give himself back" and such is not gonna happen
