Default Marvel Preview: Tiger Division #1

I was looking forward to this and finally, it's here!

"FIERCE FIGHTERS! The defenders of South Korea take center stage! In their first ever solo series, you’ll learn more about TAEGUKGI, a powerhouse with a heart of gold; LADY BRIGHT, a card-wielding sorceress; MR. ENIGMA, a street-brawling demigod; THE GENERAL, a living totem; and GUN-R II, an android with an attitude. They’re joined by fan-favorites WHITE FOX and LUNA SNOW to form an unstoppable team. Created by our own unstoppable team, writer Emily Kim (SILK) and artist Creees Lee (MARVEL VOICES), this is one epic series you won’t want to miss!"

    Very very cool looking mini!

Torn between whether having no AAA marvel characters--even guest stars, afaik--is a show of confidence from the creative teams or a desire to stay under the radar so as not get maimed by Fandom(derogatory)

God..remember that poor New Warriors book?

Glad to see this team get a chance to stretch their legs in their own series .

Yeah, that was hilarious bwa-ha-ha. We are going to be laughing about that for years to come. INTERNET GAS! You do these characters a disservice by comparing them to the New Warriors.

That book was so bad it was cancelled. One of the only non-Empyre books not to see the light of day after COVID affected the schedule.

The funny thing is that book is now the stuff of legend. Marvel should lean into it and just release the first issue as a "What If?" and charge ten bucks for it. I guarantee you that there are people who would buy it now who wouldn't have bought it then.

Sure, they would all be irony sales, but sales nonetheless.

"Tiger Division was the government-sanctioned superhuman response team of South Korea. They were under the direct employ of the National Intelligence Service and their leader was director Ami Han's alter ego, White Fox."

The first reference to the team was in the Taskmaster (2020) mini, then they appeared in Black Cat (2020) Annual 1, then in the White Fox Marvel Unlimited mini.

Yet, at least. They're always slow to do those for some reason. Probably because it takes extra work. Work that's worth doing for the trade at least though, I think.

I read it today and thought it was a good first issue.
