Okay that's one fight where Peter had to beg for help fot worst enemy to save hi because that's apparently who he is not and will probably be saved by black cat or MJ (If the moment arrives egtrreyshe has too) because Peter can't do anything that would seek remotely decent except for being nerfed far worse then he's ever been and will be not getting any better till someone else takes over. But that's whatever. What about his recent battle which not as bad as his beating from tombstone but it's up there

Drama and conflict have to be established as well. The villain's motivation just being "he's really mad" didn't work for me in light of all the Spider-Man vs. Vulture fights over the years. I didn't buy the situation was so desperate that Peter would call Norman Osborn of all people, begging for his help.

The biggest problem with it by far is it keeps getting sidetracked. After that intro arc with Tombstone we got the standalone anniversary issue. And then not long after that, we got the super belated tie-in/continuation of the Spider-Man subplot from the Hellfire Gala, which came out three months after the Hellfire Gala issue. And then an entire issue dedicated towards only a minor portion of Judgement Day. And then this most recent Hobgoblin story was essentially a backdoor pilot to the Gold Goblin mini-series.

In a vacuum none of this is bad, but when you remember the series is only 13 issues in and it keeps dangling the relationship drama between Peter, MJ and Paul I don't blame people for losing their patience.
Kind of sounds like this run is being driven by editorial. Oh wait .

Not editorial but from a writer who's never done book that's supposed to be a big run and admit openly he's figuring it out as he goes

    Wells actually admitted that? Yikes.

Good God, imagine if his Spider-Man run went as long as something like One Piece or Beserk!

I'm not as angered by it by some people, but it's mostly just mid so far in my mind. It's had some entertaining moments, it's had some stupid stuff, but it's nothing very memorable.

I will state an overall opinion after it ends.
It really bugs me their obsession to make us hate MJ.

They're not trying to do so. It's drama and by using the mysery box to frustrate fans

If Wells keeps writing Peter as he has been, I'm going to start to root for Paul.

I'm not rooting for Peter or Paul but Mary (Jane).

I'm definitely not rooting for Osborne, I can tell you that.
