Not necessarily saying or doing racist stuff but just not towing the line with what is not or no longer 'acceptable'.

This idea has a basis that celebrities deserve their celebrity and somehow have a right to it. People can continue to partake of someone's talents, or shut them off based on anything.

I'm going to need to see that this actually legitimately takes place before I can even see thinking over if someone should not have been given the boot.

For me, it was Ashlee Simpson. Yes, she was caught lip syncing during a SNL performance. But she definitely wasn't the first person (or last) to do that. She had a lot of talent IMO and should've had a lengthy career.

Yeah, plus she had a child with the singer of Fall Out Boy I think and took some time out of the spotlight. There wasn't any outrage to boycott her or anything.

If anything her 15 minutes of fame simply expired.

When I think of the few celebrities who were actually "cancelled" I think of maybe Micheal Richards, Mel Gibson, maybe Roseanne...
