Default Law and Order and Chicago franchises

So, the procedural bug hit me and I wanted to check out these two franchises. Are there any watchers on here? I wanted to try Peacock for a month and to my dismay, not only are seasons missing from L&O but L&O Trial by Jury is on Amazon Prime? Those are both NBC shows why would seasons be missing and on a different platform? Dick Wolf really created quite a juggxrnaught with these two franchises

Im not big on Chicago PD. But I enjoyed Chicago Law for the season it was on. Can get it on Dvd. And I really love Chicago Med.

yeah, in fact I'd rename THIS thread the Chicago Franchise and keep the two separate. Otherwise it can get confusing, and they're long past having crossovers anymore (L&O on Chicago or vice versa). In fact both franchises seem content to have [multiple] crossovers with the other shows in their respective franchises.

I really liked Chicago PD the first few seasons. As it has gone on and they have replaced more and more of the original cast my interest started to wane. It did get me to start watching Med and Fire though, and I love Fire now and have gone back and watched it all. Med is sort of like PD in the cast changes make that show go up and down for me.

For me Oliver Platt is the best character. But maybe because I like the actor so much. I also really love Steven Webbers character. But again maybe because I like the actor.

So, I caught a rerun of Chicago PD I hadn't seen before. Pretty good two part episode where the unit starts by helping the son of a superior who's gotten mixed up with supposed small time drug dealers. The unit discovers the bad guys are involved in something much, much bigger. It starts with some interesting questions about when the police should and shouldn't follow procedure but kinda walked away from that and went straight hard melodrama. But it was pretty good at it and made me accept it despite some of the typical tropes..."You're too close to this!" "You don't want to cross that line!" ... villain who's just so evil he kills people for no logical reason but to show us how irredeemable he is...The bit where spoilers:
Voight gives the team bad leads so he can follow the good leads himself and handle the bad guy himself. AGAIN
end of spoilers and this one probably belongs in the Random Things That Bug You Thread...spoilers:
The bad guy is caught and the hero/heroes decide not to kill him and to turn him in, but the bad guy does something crazy and forces the hero/heroes to kill him any way.
    end of spoilers

One thing I really liked though was spoilers:
Burges has been shot by the big bad and through sheer determination and while still handcuffed patches her wound, makes it out of the dirty warehouse, and breaks into a car in an attempt to drive away. She doesn't quite make it but...
end of spoilers I still thought it was a cool scene.
