Wait to they introduced a sister for Ted Kord to be a villain for Jaime Reyes? That’s interesting.

Yeah for the film, they also introduced a Ted Kord daughter to be Jaime’s LI. If BB is a hit they’ll probably pull a Julia Pennyworth and introduce the daughter into the comics too.

I think that’s a good way for Jaime to be pulled into the Kord family drama and get connected with the Scarab. The girlfriend can tell Jaime and the audience the history of the scarab, Blue Beetle, and the evil aunt trying to take over Kord Industries.

It does feel like Ted is waaaayyy more connected to Ted now than he was when he first debuted.

This is actually a great thing for Ted because now he can actually have an arch enemy (Was it was his Uncle Jarvis before?). It also connects Jaime and Ted’s mythology even more. Their villains are having a team up.

With Sarandon playing Victoria in the movie that would mean Ted, if he shows up, will be at least 50. He could have a Michael Douglas Ant-Man type role.

It would be an interesting idea to have Ted's (newly introduced, never before mentioned) sister be his nemesis, or even some kind of major threat at all. She seems more like a "running the show behind the scenes" type, like a Lex Luthor or (early) Max Lord. I guess it would make sense, though, since SOMEONE has to be running Kord Industries while he's always running around.
ALSO... I thought it very odd that not only does it seem like Jaime's identity is common knowledge, not just among his family and friends, but Ted's Blue Beetle identity is also well known? I just don't see how that would be an advantage to Ted in any way. He has no power and despite his gadgets, he isn't exactly Iron Man. Have either of these reveals been around for a while, and I just missed it?

Hoping that if Ted IS in the movie, he at least gets a little bit of action...

I hope that they aren't married to that Starfire costume (love the hair though). It's way too busy.

Not sure about Ted’s situation but one of the more unique aspects of Jaime’s story was that he told his family and friends about him being Blue Beetle right away. They all helped him get through the craziness of becoming a superhero.
