There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
Didn't notice that before but you are right.. Spacing is off.
I think I found the source and it says they are mockups done by a fan named James Hanson. He does do a good job with his image manipulating skills but messed up on the letters. I know when I play around with that that is the trick part because you treat each letter as an image. So you can be off.
Link: Conan the Barbarian Covers done by Frank Frazetta so I doubt these were even issues sold at the comic shops, etc.
Votes for WBE will still count but a word to the wise is only pick legitimate sources.

For a week devoted to the details, the running commentary certainly matches the entries.

Then the winner has to return the prize.
As I recall, there have been disputes about whether Bernie Wrightson's Frankenstein (which did win at least one previous contest) should be eligible. Many people maintained that it is not a graphic novel but an actual prose novel with dozens of full-page illustrations, and there's nothing in the rules that says that an illustrated novel qualifies. The usual rule applies that if you think an entry does not fit the eligibility requirements, then don't vote for it, so if enough people do vote for it that it wins, then that means that it was in fact eligible. Maybe some week the theme should be fake covers?
