Default The War... On Christmas !

As the dust settled on the battlefield of the scorched Earth of the event we call after Thanksgiving ; Black Friday ...I gave thanks. As the blood dripped from my hands as I reined down blows on some man for that big screen TV...I knew this was just another battle. Another long , hard fought battle in the WAR ON CHRISTMAS.

Santa began this war. The moment he launched an early attack on Thanksgiving and no one could forgive him for that early battle. Many Elves died that day for Santa's blood lust for capitalism. But Santa's greed could not be stopped. Society had to feast on product and Santa was a mass producer of goods as we know.

I sit down daily and wonder how we got this far. Was my need to get those cheap Black Friday video games at GameStop worth it when I nailed that couple with a stand they had there ? I mean...it was Elden Ring for f-cks sake ! I mean who else could turn down getting a copy of Grand Theft Auto V on the Playstation 5 for $10 bucks. Those people stood in my way for that !

The War has raged for years. On the front lines Sean Hannity is sending out messages to Kirk Cameron to help in the fight against Santa. Sarah Palin is preparing to drop dead turkey's on the fleet from her b-54 bomber brigade. To try and stop the assault by Santa. This war on Christmas can not last.

Only the brave folks at Fox News can spare us. Maybe stop this war....let us all hope this War on Christmas ends.

Ah, that could be looked two different ways:
"What is it (war) good for?"
    or
"What is it (Christmas) good for?"

Though I'm assuming you meant it in an Edwin Starr-kinda way . . .

    I agree with both statements.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

If celebrating Christmas meant a season of Peace, I wouldn't be as against it ( even with the dubious religious origins). But it's not, it's a season of unbridled consumerism with people feeling compelled to give gifts nobody wants and receive the same in kind. It's a highly stressed time where the obligation of gift giving brings on as much anxiety as the forced family get togethers. And I won't get into that awful Christmas music that is pumped into every corner of every store.
As for Superboy, I see no evidence these people who have the "Spirit they celebrate on Christmas" have made the world better. 2,000 years of Church history would say different.

The Lights are nice and I like the original Grinch cartoon.

I for one enjoy Christmas. I did not realize just how much until I was in prison and was not around family. My dad and I take a couple days a week and watch Christmas shows and just spend time together forgetting about his health issues, me being batshit crazy, legal troubles in the past. And Christmas day we wake up early and open the gifts we got each other. Never really anything big. Just a couple I thought of you gifts.

I put up the tree and hung some lights around the inside of the house. It is a very nice relaxing time.

Im also excited because this is the first year I am sending out Christmas cards I mean it is only to 4 people but I am excited

If this is a war then Christmas is definitely winning. One of my colleagues has had her tree up for weeks already and I started eating mince pies in September.

I love Christmas, but I can't help but snark when each year the stuff shows up in shops earlier and earlier. One supermarket chain started offering Christmas candy in the first week of October this year. And then of course, it will disappear two weeks before Christmas when many of us would still like to buy it.
