Martin Campbell said that directing the movie was a terrible experience because it was basically “directing by committee”. Apparently WB execs were butting in at every turn. No surprise that it turned out bad.

Aside from the mask, the costume treatment wasn't bad at all translating the suit as an energy construct...and pre-Deadpool Reynolds had hotshot Hal Jordan firmly in his range.

I thought it was a great way to render a GL outfit.

I'm more of the mind that GL costumes are transmuted matter and so they should just look like clothing.
