He basically ran the whole production though, so he doesn’t have anyone to blame but himself. He needed to aim higher than “typical Rock movie” to succeed. It sucks but for you at least there’s hope now for Hodge to play BP since I guarantee Gunn isn’t bringing anyone over from BA.

It'll depend on how well SHAZAM!2 does when it is released. If that film doesn't make at least three times its budget, forget it. That iteration is DONE.

I can only hope that it does make money. Not only is Zachary Levi literally the perfect casting for that character, but you can also tell how important that franchise is to him. Levi has been very open with the fact that getting to work on that first film pulled him out of depression. And the second one honestly looks like it's gonna be awesome. So I sincerely hope that whatever Gunn's plans are, it involves more of Zachary Levi's Shazam.

Inside the Fall of Henry Cavill's Superman

TL;DR

- Superman and Wonder Woman's cameos have both been cut from Flash now.

- Cavill didn't sign a contract and only had a verbal agreement for Man of Steel 2 from the interim people running DC Films before Gunn was hired.

- Brainiac would've been the villain in Man of Steel 2.

TBF Brainiac sounds like a likely candidate to be the Big Bad for NuSuperman. Luthor and Zod are played out and I feel Gunn would want a change like Reeves did from the Joker.

BA having been a massive success would had been nice but not say much about the strenght of the new management and their lofty DCs version of the MCU goal. BA being below expectations (AFAIK not even a total bomb or desaster) was actually an opportunity served on a silver platter for the new management to show and not just tell how serious they are. Well, they have shown the opposite and this tells that any big lofty future connected universe ambitions are just as easily doomed as the previous ones. These clowns lack the endurance and commitment and will just fumble on chasing the quick buck.

Apparently Gal had just one scene removed because it featured also Cavill (he is the only one they are removing from the film), while her cameo at the beginning of the film is still there:
