DC Studios is basically his brainchild and his long-term investment. It's clear, that he's more invested in it, than in Reeves.
And also, Reeves is working too slow. Many people don’t believe this, but we are now gradually approaching a reality where TBATB production might actually begin earlier.

There’s a very good chance that The Batman sequel is the last movie in that series while they’re hoping that Gunn’s DCU will help keep the lights on for the next decade. So yeah, not surprising there’s a focus on that.

A planned Justice League movie by George Miller called "Justice League: Mortal" that was cancelled due to the 2007-08 WGA strike. It got pretty far into production and all the roles were cast, but it shut down right before they started filming. The script's been "leaked" online, though

It all looks kind of cheap. Maybe I'm remembering this wrong, but wasn't it going to be largely CGI over the actors and kind of a "Beowulf" type of movie with a fusion of computer animation and real actors?

This is one of those movies I've always been morbidly curious about. George Miller can do some great stuff, but this felt like a disaster in the making. We also almost had Armie the Cannibal Hammer as Batman.
