I don't think it would be wrong to say Miller's Daredevil is the line between old comics and new comics.
    Miller was right.

I'm a freaky completist and this may be the first Omni I pass on unless I can get it for $20 at some point down the road. Random '90's characters first appearances is not my cup of tea.

Would you guys ever consider buying a second hand omnibus/hardcover without the dust jacket?

Depends upon why you want it, and how bad you want it.

If you want to read the stories, and want to read them now, then yes.

If you can get it considerably cheaper than a new one, yes.

so you'll spend money on an "awful" omnibus, because it contains one issue which you're interested in?

To read and pass onto somebody else. Sure.

To put on the shelf with the rest of my collection. No way!

But you can ALWAYS rearrange your shelf collection.

I think it all depends upon if he wants to read the stories right now.

Maybe I'm just slumming with my collection. hahaha. I'm still in the beginning stages, so my shelves are not quite pretty yet, so something like this wouldn't bother me if I really wanted to read those stories right now.

If it was really cheap I would. If going jacketless really bugged me I'd just make one.

This. I thought this as well, but didn't suggest it because I wasn't sure if the suggestion would be well received.

I like Cable&Deadpool more but I guess Kelly's run is a better starting point (and it's very good too).

Any examples of dustjackets made by you?

    Ditto!

It would just feel bare without the dj, and the completist collector in me wouldn't allow it.

You're just like me. But what would you do if something happens to the dustjacket, like get torn or bent? I *almost* had this problem with one of my books, but after some ironing, I was able to subdue the bend. That was a nightmare scenario for a while though.
