Received a copy of Marvel Knights Spider-Man HC yesterday, and today I decided to see what it looked like under the dustjacket. Took it off and noticed that the spine was upside down! And where it says Marvel Knights Spider-Man on the front is on the back and upside down! Anyone else have this issue with theirs? I mean the pages are fine, they just inserted into cover wrong, so I can basically never take the DJ off lol.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR OMNIBUS VOL. 3 HC ROSS COVER
    Written by STAN LEE
    Penciled by JACK KIRBY
Covers by ALEX ROSS & JACK KIRBY
Under Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, FANTASTIC FOUR earned the tagline "The World's Greatest Comic Magazine." And there's no doubting it when you read the adventures they have in store for you in their third Omnibus collection! It's one history-making hit after another — the first appearances of the Kree, Annihilus and "Him" (a.k.a. Adam Warlock); team-ups with the Inhumans and Silver Surfer; and the birth of Franklin Richards! Add in classic enemies Dr. Doom, the Mole Man and Galactus — and Crystal's first outing as a member of the FF — and you know what? "The World's Greatest Comic Magazine" is an understatement. These are some of the greatest adventures of all time! Collecting FANTASTIC FOUR (1961) #61-93 and ANNUAL #5-7, and material from NOT BRAND ECHH #5-7.

Ugh. Couldn't stand it. And I loved his FF. That said I was talking about the whole line in general. Hickman's run is long over. The Ultimate line out there now isn't even a cheap facsimile of what it was even three years ago. It's just bad.

I just saw that on Newsarama! So much for the whole "there will be no vol. 3 omnibuses" topic. This gives hope to a Spidey vol. 3, that's for sure.
Now I'm stumped, do I sell my HC MMWs 7-9 and get this, or just keep the MMWs. The MMWs are easier to read, but the Omnibus is oversized. Ugh.
"Boomerang arrow, Kate... It comes back to you in the end. Boomerang. Respect it." - Clint
"Why the hell do you need an arrow that comes back to you after you shoot it, Clint?" - Kate
    "Because... Boomerangs." - Clint.

Byrne actually switched to a less dated writing style in the other half of his run - he mostly cut out the captions and the thought balloons and let the dialogue and pictures tell the story alone. This was actually very much ahead of its time for a mainstream '80s comic, so I think maybe he agreed with you that the first half of the run was too old-fashioned. I agree the Michelinie Iron Man makes that style work better because it has that very timely late '70s style, so it doesn't matter that it feels like a period piece, it's supposed to.

Speaking of Fantastic Four, I'm glad we're getting a third Lee/Kirby omnibus. So many omnibus collections stall out after 2, but this run really needs 3 to make its full impact.

Now I'm stumped, do I sell my HC MMWs 7-9 and get this, or just keep the MMWs. The MMWs are easier to read, but the Omnibus is oversized. Ugh.
They will need to reprint Spider-man Omnibus Volume 2 before they go for number 3.

So vol 3 omnibuses don't sell and Marvel won't do any.
And they are hating the F4 because Fox and cancelling it.
So the conclusion is that here is an F4 vol3 omnibus.
Does it seem strange to anybody else or is it just me?

This doesn't make any damn sense at all. Why on earth would they put the Infinity issues in this and not the issues after with a recap page like we predicted? Putting JUST the New Avengers Infinity books in here won't even make any sense if someone is just reading this book, not to mention now a full third of this book now double-dips with the Infinity OHC. If this doesn't get changed before release I'm canceling my pre-order and I'm a HUGE fan of this run. Very disappointed.

EDIT: Not to mention that the Avengers OHC is once again orphaning issues 14 and 15... so damn lame. Why are you butchering the collected editions of this run Marvel? Isn't Hickman supposed to be one of your primary authors?
