This is the most intelligent response to my comment about Marvel trying to hold back on FF - instead of the knee jerk reaction from other posters that they're not. As much as I think Brevoort is a d-bag he even addressed the situation and defended Marvel's lack of FF enthusiasm.
Just because they've released a few books doesn't mean there's not a subtle protest going on.
Marvel/Disney will in fact cut the nose off to spite the face if they think in the long-run it will help them.
Business that know how to make money do this.
Disney knows how to make money.

Is this the spine you're asking about?
Groo is one of my all-time faves. I loved Sergio Aragones from my first exposure to his work in Mad Magazine, and having a monthly title featuring his talent was a real treasure through most of the '80s. Still have all my floppies of his from Pacific Comics, Eclipse, Marvel, Image, and Dark Horse.
However, as much as I would love to see an omnibus (or several), I did not include it in my top ten submission to Tigereyes, due to the fact that Marvel published Groo the Wanderer on its Epic label, reserved for creator-owned material. I presume that a Groo omni wouldn't really be up to Marvel to decide. Seems similar to the expired licensing agreements that keep much of Marvel's toy-based titles from seeing reprint (Rom is oft lamented in forum postings, for example). Has Marvel given the omni treatment to any other Epic label series thus far? Groo was the only such title that I regularly collected, back in the day.
Is there a link anywhere to the winners of the last few Top 10 omnibus wish list fan contests or can anyone list them? I'm curious how many actually happened.
Thanks in advance.

Just glancing down the list, we've seen 1, 7, 17, 28, 36, and 48 receive attention from Marvel in the past twelve months. I might be overlooking others.

Yes, the Busiek Avengers Omnibus is widely available in the UK (and partly Europe) at pretty reasonable prices (amazon.co.uk marketplace, speedyhen.co.uk). I ordered mine for under £48 (incl. shipping) thru Abebooks.co.uk. However, be aware that once it disappears from speedyhen and several marketplace sellers start selling out, it wil go OOP very fast. In particular due to the fact that are no more copies at Diamond (as per Omnibus's post below).
Also, I would be very wary with regards to the Annihilation Conquest Omnibus. That one does seem to have disappeared in various places very quickly. It was going for under £60 from Wordery on the amazon.co.uk marketplace but they have now sold out. Amazon.o.uk has raised it's price from £61.75 to £72.38.
Time will tell as to whether any more sellers will appear or whether Speedyhen will get more copies in as it did with the Busiek Avengers and the Trial of Captain America Omnibuses. There was a period where it seemed that the latter two had become very scarce and yet they were eventually restocked each time they went out of stock. The Annihilation Conquest Omnibus may be a different beast entirely.
I think you may have a valid point with the "amazon high price/Diamond drought" theory. That's why, in the case of Annihilation Conquest Omnibus, I think that if anyone does not yet have it and wants it, they should purchase it as soon as they see it a decent price. For Brits, it might be a good idea to order it from Speedyhen even though they are out of stock. They might just get it back in again, and a £50 pricetag is not too shabby at all.
Marvel really really needs to do this one for Spider-Man fans. But it needs to go to ASM 289 at least to finish off Hobgoblin's story (until HLives). So the title may need to be changed to include Owsley and Peter David.#44 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN BY TOM DEFALCO (251-285,ANNUALS)
Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft
Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”
Thanks for responding.
So for both years, the No. 1 pick received omnibus treatment, whether coincidence or not, and at least two of the Top 10 got the treatment.
I'd almost say the Uncanny X-Men was a no-brainer, but FF vol. 3 was somewhat of a surprise. Not sure if Marvel is paying attention to this or not, but the odds look good for now that the next No. 1 gets the big book treatment.
