Regarding PM&IF below are some truncated comments I shared over on the MMW MB a few weeks ago:

Started reading the Power Man & Iron Fist Epic v1 last week. I've never read any of this material, but have always been interested. It's a bit before my time, but I do remember seeing the final issue hit the stands back when I first started picking up comics regularly as a kid in the mid '80s and I remember Iron Fist from a few Spidey team up stories over the years and read Immortal Iron Fist several years back. Can't really say this book is my cup of tea. It's ok, but kind of mediocre bronze age Marvel. I went into the book cold, but was hoping for better with Claremont/Byrne being listed on the front of the book. Interestingly enough, they were only on the book for a couple issues!

The PM&IF book eventually did pick up my interest a bit about halfway thru when Jo Duff took over the scripting but I'd still rank it as B- or C material from Marvel's Bronze Age.

By contrast the last Epic I read was Cap: Streets of Poison by Gruenwald which I really enjoyed. I had never read any of that content and was skeptical with it being early 1990s Marvel, but I really like it.

What sort of tone is the Cap Epic? I'm not necessarily looking for more street level stuff but I'm looking for fist fighting type action and nothing too out there story wise.

What's the consensus on the Daredevil Epic's released so far material wise?

For me its surprise that they have release so much below average material, and nothing significant yet in the Epics, not even the first issues. I know they may never handle the Miller stuff in Epic format but they are only now just starting to get to the more interesting runs.

Doc, what Atlas MMWs am I going for when it comes to Sub Mariner? The gaps between the Golden Age books and the Silver MMWs.

My understanding is that Atlas Era Heroes vols. 1-3 each feature some Subbie, but volume 3 is the only one I own and I bought that because I was told the Bill Everett art made it worth it--that and I picked it up for less than $20.

cant believe it took me so long to find a decent thread online about Marvel Collected Editions, having to build my collection again due to selling off 1st time to buy a house and now I regret this due to prices gone mad on some books, read this thread all the way through and got some tips which helped me pick up a Cap Brubaker Omnibus and Deadpool Minibus tonight for £80 off a well known UK seller, look forward to joining in the convos

Thanks, all! As always, you gave me a good way to think about the question. I think it's pretty clear that even though the Omnibus includes everything, I'm not excited about it. I'm going to take a pass on this one, pick up a cheap used TPB of the Steranko stuff, and if I fall utterly in love with it I'll work on grabbing the MMWs for cheap after the aftermarket deflates.

Next question: Can anyone figure out what the DM cover is for Werewolf By Night? I am definitely for sure buying the Omni, but I cannot find an image of it anywhere!

Just ordered the SHIELD omnibus. I've never read these issues before and I'm not expecting much out of the writing, but the art will be brilliant.

I went back and forth with Werewolf by Night, but I got a hold of all these floppies about 15 years ago and read them, and, well, I've always found the bronze age writing style pretty dull. I don't expect it to get better now, so I'm going to pass on this one.

On a side note, I just went through my upcoming books list and I don't have any other omnibus books from Marvel through at least January. Couple OHCs, but no omnibus books.

I just ordered the S.H.I.E.L.D. Steranko DM on IST and the cover appears to be from Strange Tales 167.

Dang. I was really hoping for #4, since IMO it is one of the most iconic covers Marvel has.

For me and from memory since the OT hasn't been updated for 2016 it's just UXM3, DD companion reprint and then maybe Mrs Marvel OHC.

Curious about this too. I haven't read much Silver Age material, but because of all the praise it's been getting on this thread and on the Facebook group, I'm super on the fence about it.
