So anyway...

Turns out the book is now as good as new!

In fact, even better, because now I know that the lining paper is properly glued to the textblock spine.

Seems like this is more of a problem with the newer Omnibi. Certainly my Stern Spidey and Fantastic Four Byrne volume 2 are a little bit this way, but Secret Wars II is one of the old line, so go figure.

I'll be tackling those two when I've got the time and energy!

I second that. It's a shame so many of my Marvel books need this done. I thought book collecting was my hobby, not book repair.

Well if he's operating a second account after being banned I would suggest he doesn't use the same sig and draw attention to himself.

Don't know specifically, before I was a mod. I remember reading some posts of his on the first Page of this thread when I was editing it and he had banned under his name and they were a bit OTT. There was a lot of feeling around after the reboot.

It is a shame but it's nice that there is an easy fix for this problem and if this sort of issue is the price we have to pay for superior binding then so be it.
