Like a Red Dragon, The Phoenix shall Soar in 2024!
1. Set in present-day
2. Diana still works at a museum
3. Nubia and Yara as her supporting cast
4. Circe as the villain
5. Wonderful action sequences
6. An ending that leaves room for more entries.
Mine would include:
1. Donna Troy as Wonder Girl.
2. Giganta and Dr. Pscyho as the villains.
3. Nubia.
4. Maybe a guest-appearance by Black Canary.
Currently(or soon to be) Reading: Absolute Power, Batman/Superman: World's Finest, Birds of Prey, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Justice Society of America, Shazam, Titans, & Wonder Woman.
Gets rid of the Zeus bit.
Hey, it said "ideal", not "likely".
My feelings about an ideal Wonder Woman sequel could change later, but today, after all that's transpired regarding the two DCEU WW films, this is what I'd like to see in a hypothetical third entry of the amazing amazon's cinematic adventures:
Diana is the star (no substitutions)
Introduces Nubia, Julia & Vanessa
Absolutely NO Steve Trevor.
Circe is the villain for sure
Themyscira is invaded by Circe and her hordes, amazing battle scenes between amazons and bestiamorphs (including one or two mythical bestiamorph hybrids). Action will be AMAZING. It has to be.
Diana is uber-powerful as she should be, but Circe's ancient sorcery will definitely be the biggest challenge the amazon princess has ever faced onscreen.
Post-credit scene that hints at Queen Clea (yes, I am still obsessed with Clea).

Open with Diana saving a little girl from an apartment block fire. Donna. She's orphaned and taken to Themyscira. Then various flashes of Diana returning to Themyscira through the years to see the girl, train with her etc. Make it clear they have a strong bond.
Present day, Donna is 18 or so. She's a hell of an Amazon. Circe is our main villain and manages to split Diana's power between the two, with Donna brainwashed. Circe creates an opponent Diana can't beat - because she'd never strike her sister with full intent.
Brainwashed Donna leads Circe's army on Themyscira for...reasons I havent thought of yet, Diana doesn't fight but brings her around with love and sisterhood. The gods restore Diana's power to full, but let Donna keep hers. It'd be a whole movie about women lifting each other up rather than tearing each other down, that no one is diminished by another's success etc. Post credits would be about how the world now has two wonder women, to which Hippolyta says they might want to count again. It's time they learned about Nubia and Yara Flor.
AMAZON WOMEN IN SPACE! An adaptation of Gail Simone's Wrath of the Silver Serpent arc from WONDER WOMAN #42-44 where Diana meets her presumed dead aunt Astarte , the elder sister of Hippolyte who was abducted by aliens and the culture of the space-faring group The Citizenry - similar to Peter Quill and the Ravagers meets Hunger Games but more sinister.
Would be a way to introduce Green Lanterns to the DCEU.

Wait...was that the revamped Empress of the Silver Snake?
I believe so, but I am not familiar with the other’s appearance.

To me, it should focus around Dooms Doorway.
Start with a flashback to the Amazons first few days on the island and how part of being in Paradise is forever guarding the Doorway.
Since Diana left the island the door has steadily been getting more and more out of control and its ultimately the catalyst of what brings Diana back to the island. She encounters a monster/demon or two in Mans World that shouldnt be there.
