Isn't that thing bonded to Cain through mystical means? I think Thanos would need to use his more esotric abilities to get to it. And he doesn't have access to them here.

Thanos isn't allowed to have gems. It's in the rules.

Actually though, it doesn’t specify Thanos.

It’s just ‘No Gems’. So that means Cain doesn’t get his gem either.
