I’ve seen some speculation that Lex nukes Smallville somehow, basically destroys the entire town in retaliation for Clark & Lois locking him up. That would be absolutely insane and I want that to be what the cliffhanger is now lol.

That seems too dark even for this show but would be a heckuva cliffhanger.

A move that would make Space Age Lex very proud.

Well, they finally brought down Bruno and Intergang, Lois survived her procedure and has to live with her new normal (with Clark's help), and Lex Luthor is now waiting in the wings to take back what he feels is his.

It feels fitting that in this show even Lex Luthor would be a family man. Although nothing says "drop dead wife" like dramatically dropping your wedding ring. Guess he didn't appreciate her taking over his company. Will we see his adult daughter?

I don't think Sarah was a great liar and did an amazing job of keeping Jordan's secret...but Jordan doesn't help when he's on an ego trip and can't leave well enough alone, especially when people are talking about his alter ego. He's becoming such a self-entitled, self-involved, dick, especially to his parents and to Sarah. He enjoys the fame and the fortune, which is what screwed over the Bizarro!Kents, and it's going to probably end up being his and his family's undoing.

I get Jon doesn't want to get special treatment, and maybe Kyle was treating him more with kid gloves, but that Park guy was being a dick.

"Chrissy is sick" AKA she's not in this episode. I guess the Irons are dealing with Matteo.

I don't know what's more surreal, Lex Luthor in adulthood with a full head of hair (that he willingly shaves off) or Lois Lane looking straight up like a film noir reporter in that scene of him arriving at the prison.

Why is a 20 year old George Jr. exiting a high school like he goes there?

It's funny how this isn't Earth-Prime but Lex still has an Otis and still manages to wrest control of a prison from the warden by threatening his family like he did on Supergirl. Although it was kind of funny how the warden seemed genuinely open to a bribe, unless he thought he was just humoring Luthor. But I guess that's one way to take over a prison.

Everyone all worried about Lex and what he'll do and then...Boom! Tornado!

Jordan may have helped (although Clark's probably done this so many times that he knew what he was doing with or without Jordan) but he just couldn't resist showboating and acting like a celebrity. Being a Superhero is not about the fame or the fortune but Jordan doesn't care. He wants the attention and he wants to reminisce about when he was with Sarah even though she's trying to move on and he's being a dick to her. I can't believe he tried to super-strength his dad though. Feels like he's one step away from losing it.

Clark tries to do something nice for Jon and it backfires spectacularly. Clark just can't win here.

Lex really walked all the way from prison just to confront Lois Lane and tell her he plans to end her if she doesn't retire. He's never going to let it go that they ruined his live over a crime he didn't commit even though he's committed many. It's weird to have a Lex who is revenge-obsessed with Lois Lane, though the fact that he said Superman is next after her means his enmity with the Man of Steel is alive and well. I was actually wondering if he knew the way he stared at Clark for so long at the end.

Sarah planning to reinvent herself just as she's bound to appear less on the show with all the cast departing in season 4. Well, hopefully it goes well for her.

Bizarro eating rats is...very Bizarro. Well, that and killing Otis like he did in Forever Evil. But Lex Luthor and Bizarro, together again for the first time! And perfect for Lex's plot to kill Superman.

Lex Lex Lex. His prison scenes were total badass, capped off with his "chair" eating his dinner and drinking his wine, lol. Loved the fact that he freakin' walked to the Kent farm to confront Lois. I'll echo Frontier on the noir Lois, that was quite a sight. I gotta say, even though I was loving the way they've been teasing Lex and his badassery throughout the season, I was kind of skeptical about how he'd look. Kinda loved his whole bit.

Had a legit chuckle every time they said Otis's name.

Clark getting super pissed at Jordan was pretty great. Not sure we've seen him that mad before.

Bizarro seems pretty much straight up zombie by this point. Looking forward to seeing how Lex will use him moving forward.

That was easily the least impressive Luthor since the old Superboy TV show to me.

Going full-douchebag with Jordan feels like the show's creators throwing up their hands after seasons of trying and failing to make anyone care about this kid. Maybe this was the plan all along, but it certainly didn't make for a particularly compelling journey.

I think I will give the first episode of the final season one last shot. I already feel like an idiot for watching this entire season, even if I fast forwarded through all the scenes with the characters that the network has also realized were dead air.

On the plus side.... Damn it. I got nothing.

Sorry for being such a bummer all season long, guys. I was really hoping that they'd manage to pull it together this time around, but, outside of a few truly wonderful moments, this was another dud for me.

I think Lex will get to show off more in the next episode with him out of prison and trying to kill Superman.

I feel like this season was a big step up from season 2 personally. Of course now Kyle Cushing is almost my favorite character, so I might be biased .

I definitely feel like Jordan's stuff was a natural progression from how he's been since season 1. And it's all going to blow up in his face.

Lol I like Lex’s rock & roll theme, cheesy though it is. Seeing him with a full head of hair was weird as hell. This show has borrowed a lot design wise from the DCEU, but taking the whole “Lex goes bald after being sent to prison” is such a weird choice to me. I like the actor though. I liked how Lex barely even acknowledged Clark, just treated him with total contempt and was laser focused on Lois. Guess they’re going with “Lena” being his daughter in this continuity over his sister in the Arrowverse. I can’t buy Lex actually feeling affection for his kid, but I could buy the idea that he looks at her as his property and as a control freak, totally loses it when she doesn’t do what he wants because he’s been gone for so long.

Wow this episode really didn’t pull any punches about Jon being the better son than Jordan. Frustrating that it took this long for the show to acknowledge the obvious but better late than never I guess. Part of me wonders if they might actually go for Jon getting his powers and Jordan losing his in the final season. Doesn’t really matter either way I guess.

I had a good laugh at Lex making the dude in the wheelchair sweep up his hair. What a petty asshole lmao.

Lex’s hair clippers, though a different take, was kinda cool as a maguffin plot moving device for this particular version of the character. Also, gotta admit, never seen a guy get wailed on with hair clippers before.

I preordered the knock off Hot Toy Superman a while back, not really knowing if it’s ever come. But it shipped last week and just arrived. It’s not too bad. Definitely not the quality of Hot Toys, the suit is rubber and the colors are really drab. But it’s basically the only Hoechlin version of Superman out there.

He stared at Clark for an uncomfortable amount of time before he left. I wonder if there was more to it.

Thoughts on #SupermanAndLois , quickly zipping through s3e09 "The Dress", s3e10 "Collision Course", s3e11 "Complications", before focusing on s3e12 "Injustice".
    Spoilers follow ...

    1. We're back!

Took a hiatus of my own from covering SAL for a bit this season, partly from real-life demands and partly because it was starting to feel too much like homework. So let's get caught up to super-speed on the recent episodes.

    2. "The Dress".

I hope someone in James Gunn's inner circle (if not JG himself) is watching this episode.

THIS is the level of chemistry between Superman and Lois you need to strive towards. Granted, this version has already been together for about 20 years in-story, but still, something to aim for on the big screen.

    3. "Collision Course"

    You had this coming, Clark.

Clark getting rejected by his sons to finally hang out together when he has always put both being Lois' husband and being Superman miles ahead of being their dad was a consequence that was bound to happen.

Clark has become a good but still not great dad on this show. Easy to forget he was often an absentee father for all their lives before he told the boys The Secret in the pilot episode.

    4. "Complications"

    RIP Peia.

Got serious Akira vibes as the out-of-control Peia rampaging through Metropolis reminded me of the classic anime's Tetsuo on his death-spiral.

But instead of fighting her, Clark convinces her it's OK to let go. That whole sequence was really moving.

And, as this is probably his final episode, did we get too much of a humanized Bruno Mannheim? Should we have gotten more of the Intergang side of him for balance?

    5. On to "Injustice":

This episode felt less like a prelude to a season 3 finale and more like a modified season 4 premiere. Like the whole premise of the show might be shifting to something very different.

    6. Jordan here is coming off bad ... very bad.

Toxic Nice Guy. Entitled Doormat. Incel In Waiting?

The power is going to his head. He clearly wants the adulation he's been missing his whole life. He can't be just friends with Sara because he still has feelings for her and he acts both possessive and jealous around her. Yikes in a vacuum, but Big Yikes when combined with his powers.

    7. That was the most intimidating Clark has ever been on this show ... and it was against Jordan.

Which, considering this show has already had him dealing with Evil Morgan Edge, Bizarro, Bruno Mannheim, and the Parasite, is REALLY saying something.

Jordan raising a hand in anger to Clark, and Clark swiftly reacting to it, might have been the most negatively emotional scene this season. Where are they going to go with this?

    8. And now, time for the main attraction: the long-awaited debut of Live-Action Lex Luthor XI.

Lex Luthor is the 3rd most important character in the Superverse and in the top tier of all fictional villians.

Every bit as vital to Superman's mythos as the Joker is Batman's, Lex is the perfect foil for Kal: the yang to his yin.

It's always a big deal when the Biggest Bad of the franchise shows up. And damn, has he ever shown up now.

    9. Of the 11 actors who have now played him, Michael Cudlitz may already be the Most Brutal Lex Ever.

I'm unfamiliar with the actor's previous work, but in just one episode, he's already a force to be reckoned with.

Like Chad Coleman's Bruno, Michael Cudlitz commands the screen. Unlike Bruno, I have no fear this Lex will be too humanized. He weirdly reminds me of a human Thanos.

I'm a little worried he's maybe just TOO brutal, too vicious. I'm hoping some of these rough edges get smoothed over once he's back in LuthorCorp (why not LexCorp?) as CEO. And that we see some scientific genius from him.
I loved how he ruthlessly got control of the entire prison quickly.

I look forward to seeing him interact with Superman.

    10. That's how you do Bizarro.

Not as a sympathetic simpleton, but as a terrifying monster with Superman's powers.

A monster that that will soon be under Lex Luthor's control.

Bottom line: I honestly liked "Injustice" more than the rest of Season 3.

I'm glad they did the cancer storyline with Lois, but I'm more glad it's finished and that direction of the show seems like it's going to some more classic superhero fare.

    Can't wait for the finale!

Grade of enjoyment (previous 3 episodes): B
    Grade ("Injustice" only): A

If Clark doesn’t die in the season finale then maybe Lex outs the Kents.
