Heard some stuff about SUPERMAN: LEGACY. I trust the source but this stuff is always fuzzy.

Superman's early in his career and isn't widely known. His big public reveal happens in the Middle East, where terrorists have gotten ahold of Kryptonian tech.

Waller and Sam Lane send in the Authority to investigate - they believe Superman is responsible. Superman learned of the tech in the Fortress of Solitude and hopes it will be the missing puzzle piece to discover where he comes from.

Anyway, the big bad is Brainiac behind everything. As said in the first post, I trust the source but it's all a game of telephone with info passed ear to ear, so we'll see how much of this (if anything) pans out. Sounds solid to me though if it's true.

Oh man if this is actually true I’m going to go from being cautious to my hype going through the roof. Sam Lane and Brainiac? Hell yeah that’s exactly the kind of villains I want to see.

Weren't there a bunch of rumors about Lex getting cast soon though? Also, cool to see Viola Davis in this apparently. She's going to end up being in the first 3 DCU projects with this, creature commandos and her tv show.

One of Gunn’s first posts on Threads was Lobo and since he teased the Engineer and we know she’s showing up in Legacy, yeah I think Lobo is a lock for Legacy too.

Besides Lex it appears like Lobo being in Legacy is a done deal. That’s enough to satisfy me villain wise if I’m right, means we’ll get at least one Superman Rogue on the big screen we’ve never gotten before.

David looks like Cavill a bit. Dude is going to look huge.

Also, I’m ok if Lobo is the main physical threat.

So the Authority aren't the antagonists but more like the heroes trying to catch Batman and Superman in Public Enemies?

Which Gunn did like! But this does make the influences he’s drawing on clearer. From Birthright he’s taking the concept of Kryptonian tech being used by Superman’s enemies (and Lex is presumably the one who passed on the tech). From Brainiac obviously there’s the big man himself. The All-Star influence I assume will be Pa Kent dying at some point and Clark having to go to his funeral.

They’d still be antagonists. An antagonist is just whoever opposes the protagonist. You can have a villain protagonist and a hero antagonist, for example Zod is the protagonist of Kneel Before Zod, but he’s still a villain. My guess is that since we don’t seem to be getting the full Authority lineup, that these guys are going to be in their Stormwatch era and Legacy will be what causes them to go rogue.

Oh I bet he casts Rooker as Sam Lane.

Also says the “terrorist plotline in the Middle East” isn’t true. May or may not mean no Brainiac, guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Edit: Thinking it over, that could just be semantics. Gunn said the Authority wouldn’t be in Legacy which is technically true because they’re going to be Stormwatch I wager. Legacy might feature a conflict in the ME but it’s not the main plot the way Randolph and other scoopers have tried to portray it, it’s just a brief section while the main plot is set in Metropolis. So maybe the VA leak is still somewhat accurate (or maybe I’m just coping because I like it and I’m hoping it’s true).

Yeah, I think this is probably Gunn playing semantics. He's done that more than once since being appointed head of DC Studios, IIRC.
