Honestly while I don't think they will it would be somewhat interesting if you really did just lose the powers. Maybe you eventually get new different ones later, but losing the powers would make you feel the loss of power that the Symbiote suit provides. A way of reinforcing the story through gameplay

Electricity was part of the 1610 Venom's weaknesses. Not sure how often they used it in 616.
