Looks more like a spoof film. Wasn't expecting a 2001 spoof.

Wait, were you expecting a...serious tone for this movie?
The homage to 2001 doesn’t seem to be that deep, though.
I dont have high hopes for the movie. But the trailer made me laugh which is more then I expect
This Post Contains No Artificial Intelligence. It Contains No Human Intelligence Either.
I love the trailer, i get what they are trying to do.
Ironic I always thought there were more beautiful blondes than Maggie Robbie to play barbie but she seems to be rocking it here.
I'm waiting for the usual suspects to trash this movie for being supposedly "woke"...
Who asked for this? Hmm...Mattel, whoever controls the licensing, adults who played with/collected Barbie dolls since the early 60's, kids today who like Barbie...there's something like almost 10 animated DVD Barbie movies out there already. The real question is why we didn't get a live action Barbie movie like 10 yrs ago...
Tolstoy will live forever. Some people do. But that's not enough. It's not the length of a life that matters, just the depth of it. The chances we take. The paths we choose. How we go on when our hearts break. Hearts always break and so we bend with our hearts. And we sway. But in the end what matters is that we loved... and lived.
It made me chuckle.
It’s very self aware and I got a Zoolander vibe from Ken’s part. I think it has a chance to be quite entertaining.
No this is the prime example of WHY was this not done earlier. Be it animated or live action.
If the budget is $100 million-this film could get that without trying.
This Mattel- how many dolls ALONE could they make from this movie? How many could be released if they include Myscene and other doll lines in cameos.
Especially if they look like the actors.
Who wouldn't want the future Dr Who or Will Ferrell doll? Collectors alone will eat that up.
The director said they're going straight up over the top camp and glitz.
I'm on board for a friggin' funny movie.
They also said they would not compromise on the PG-13 rating.
I mean Helen Merrin is the narrator and Will Ferrell is the evil CEO of Mattel. It's gotta be self aware with a setup like that.
A lot of the screeners and internal buzz was that it is like the Lego Movie. That's a solid referral for me.
