How about a new type of Darksider who’s only real goal is to cause complete chaos? I think a new type is Dark Jedi is need and we should give the Sith a rest for awhile. I would also have it set thousands of years into the future. This gives plenty of open room if people want to explore the in between years.

Skip ahead a good 50 or sixty years. Rey has now taken her place as the old Jedi hermit and the Skywalker family has evolved into something of a legend. Then we have a new person arising calling themselves The Skywalker, who claims to have a balance of both the dark and the light side of the force (and perhaps even claims to be a descendant). This new Skywalker is forming a cult around himself. So this lures Rey back out of retirement.
Meanwhile the new government for the Star Wars Universe is a lot more peaceful and less prone to violence than the old. Without the forceful hand of the Empire, crime syndicates like the Hutts and Fett are on the rise.
