The world of comics is a funny place sometimes. Like when Superman teamed up with Orson Welles. Wild stuff.
https://bleedingcool.com/comics/supe...p-for-auction/The story in this Superman comic picks up as Welles and his co-star Nancy Guild are filming the final scene of Black Magic, revealing the climatic moment of the film in the process, oddly enough.
As Welles and Guild drive away from the filming location, they happen across a group of scientists preparing to launch a rocket to Mars. Welles ends up accidentally trapped inside the rocket as it launches, and once he makes it to Mars he is captured by Martian Nazis who intend to "blitzkrieg the solar system" and plunder Earth for its Uranium. Ironically, the Martian Hitler "Martler" offers Welles the role of Propaganda Minister of Earth, and getting him back to Earth eventually involves Superman.

Huh, this is kinda cool to hear. Apologies for dredging up the same old story I've told before, but he said something along the same lines to me when I had him sign my copy of Up in the Sky at my LCS not too long ago (it was my one author signing, what can I say ). He didn't name names or anything at the time but this was kinda what he was getting at.
All for it!

Guess maybe the previous heads of the Superbooks weren’t very enthralled with King? No clue how Kaminski feels about him, but given he’s in good with Gunn I’m sure he’ll get the book after the current era ends. I’d put King on one book and Waid on the other. Let one be the high minded character study and the other is the “fun” straightforward superhero book. That would balance things out and offer some diversity.

Honestly, I thought Up in the Sky was fine, but I don't think King should be put on a mainline book, let alone an ongoing.
