As a quirk for a neuro-typical professional, I feel it leans as a bit too much of a “Hahaha! It’s fun to suggest Lois is stupid, amirite?!?” Detail from the Silver Age; I get that it likely wasn’t meant that way, but it still raises my heckles whenever I see it. She’s already dealing with the fact that the central conceit of her relationship with Clark is being fooled by glasses; we don’t need to give her any other humorous quirks that would have your average middle schooler rolling their eyes.
The idea of her having some actual dyslexia, on the other hand, and still becoming a Pulitzer winning journalist who doesn’t feel shame about getting someone to check her award winning journalism’s spelling feels like that would work an actual characterization moment.
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?
I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP

“Look, you can’t put the Superman #77s with the #200s. They haven’t even discovered Red Kryptonite yet. And you can’t put the #98s with the #300s, Lori Lemaris hasn’t even been introduced.” — Sam
