Though at one point seemed to be magnetism which I thought was cool:



Greg Pak and Adam Kuder had a pretty cool/weird way for John to armor up during the New 52, where he had to “bathe” in Liquid Metal to put on the suit:

This was a classic Lex and Superman interaction only with Mannheim and JHI. If Mannheim is being set up as JHI’s “Lex” equivalent gotta say I’m really digging it.

No sign of John Henry Irons in the MAWS teaser trailer, but I’m going to keep hoping he will show up there eventually. Campbell said that the team was a fan of a lot of the Triangle Era stories, and Irons was obviously a big player in those. Don’t let S&L be the last place he gets a starring role outside of comics for decades again DC!

Is that black suit mullet Supes I see?

I found this part of the interview pretty interesting. Talk about opposite viewpoints from writer and artist:

Tasmin: Did you find there was a lot pressure on you working on a character like Steel, such a legendary character and with him being part of the Superman family?

Dorado: Honestly, no pressure. I think that’s because we haven’t gotten a lot of Steel stories. Like, I mean, he’s just been such a like auxiliary support character. So I didn’t really feel pressure. But more so wanted to just honour the legacy and honour who this character can be. I feel like more of the concern was, can we really start to set him up to be used more in the DC universe?

Yasmín: There are some really hardcore fans out there. So I don’t know, I always felt that pressure. I was like, Oh, my God, I have to do it well because of the people that really love this character. And I wanted to be to do good by them.

Appreciate how Dorado has it in mind to open Steel up for even more use in the future. Yes please.

Also like how they give props to JHI in Superman & Lois.

Can’t argue with him, while Steel has been in some great stories, he hasn’t had his own series since the Priest run ended if memory serves me right. DC let him languish for far too long, hopefully now we’re starting to see him be used outside of comics, it’s the beginning of a new era for him.

Guessing the guy with the spheres is the “antivillain/hero”. Was I right and it is in fact Mr. Terrific? I don’t know who else it could be unless it’s somebody new.

It’s interesting that the writer on the backups is not writing the miniseries we are getting, I wonder what DC planned things like this. I wonder how much the writer for the actual series will take from these backups into his story.

Maybe Dorn was a last minute decision? DC needing another filler event so soon after Lazarus Planet indicates that editorial is struggling to get Dawn of DC all lined up.
