Honestly...at this point...I just wish Marvel would give JMD his own ongoing Spidey book in it's own universe. I'd read that in a heartbeat. 616 is dead to me as far as Spidey is concerned.

JMD's two minis so far are the 'real' 616 to me. The post-OMD 616 Spider-Man is such a farcical concoction it rightfully belongs as a mentally fractured Peter's fever dream

That chart is pretty meaningless, the website even says it’s a non random sample of only 5% of comic book stores.

We know it’s skewed because if you look at the graphic novel sales for October, when the first Wells trade came out, ComicHub stores have it selling in the top 15 that month. But if you look at NPD Bookscan which has reports from 85% of all stores, the Wells trade doesn’t break into the top 20 for superheroes.

There's a scene in the first issue that makes me think, why can't the main Spider-man titles be always like this? And that carries all the rest really.

The beginning of it is the best part (Even if I don't like some **** like how Tom Taylor says Wanda's powers work), and when it looked like MJ and Mayday died, I rolled my eyes 'cause it looked like Tom Taylor was doing yet another of his edgy alternate universes, and then it's revealed Mayday casually saved 'em lol.

That made me laugh, it's a pretty good way of "subverting expectations".

Afterwards though, whatever, while the overall idea of the event is interesting, the journey to fighting Apocalypse was basically "Characters travel towards Apocalypse, characters reach Apocalypse, characters kill Apocalyspe."

The battle itself wasn't interesting, it ended too fast, and there weren't any interesting moments.

The ideas themselves are still cool though, but the execution after the introduction is one big "whatever".
